Skin care

My face is horrible. I have rosacea, acne, and I think something funky going on with my nose. The last 6 months or so the end of my nose (the part that actually separates the nostrils) is falming bright red, sore, and flaky. It peels constantly and it very inflammed. I don't know what to try. I can't spend a lot of money on different things.

I've tried washing with honey and it has not really helped. Maybe the honey would help if I had a decent moisturizer for after. Should I use shea butter? Something else? Black soap? Honey with baking soda? Virgin Olive oil?

If you give recommendations such as shea butter or some other product please tell me where you get it.

You may have yeast issues - try curing your yeast issue before you do a facial care regimen. If you don't want to use antifungal creams, try ACV by itself, or baking soda masks by itself. Both kill yeasts.

That does sound hurtfull.

Summer is going, so don't forget to stay out of the sun (use a hat, and sunscreen) - my rosacea usually gets really bad, if I get too much sun.

Regarding moisturizing. I use pure squalene ((from olives), which I buy in Japan, but I have seen in in Asian markets, too. It is quite pricy, but it goes a long way - 1 drop per cheek is plenty for me. Also, don't forget, that you should put those things on, asap after washing; the skin dries out after only 30s after taking a shower and drying it. Additionally to the squalene I use pure lanolin (which I found at the local organic store), it is fairly cheap and goes a long way and really does moisturize, it is a bit sticky, but this stickyness will go away quickly (15-30min).

I just washed my face with pure baking soda (and scrubbed my nose) and oh boy, my nose it ticked off. It is now *flaming bright* red. I guess I should not have scrubbed it. I'll try ACV next. Should i just dab that on my nose?

I also used lanolin. I think maybe I used too much? I'll wait at least 30 minutes and see of it has absorbed

Yes, the baking soda mask was for killing yeast, not for scrubbing. If it's that inflamed, try an antifungal first and then try the other stuff. If nothing helps, a trip to the dermatologist may be worthwhile.

My skin is very sensitive too and I am having success with 100% jojoba oil (desert essence brand) as a moisturizer but I mix it with Cetaphil lotion (not cream) about 1/2 and 1/2. It has been the best moisturizer my skin will accept. I also have had great success washing my face with one particular brand of a shea butter soap that was recommended at my local health food store. It's not a drugstore brand. Give me a little time to find out what the name is. It's been great. That said, I still have a lingering issue of rosacea on my chin only. I wonder if it isn't due to some bacteria in my concealer wand. I have one in a tube that comes out through a sponge and I wouldn't be surprised if it needs tossed by now.

I will have to try the baking soda mask for my chin. Honey didn't do much for my skin either.
