Has anyone made English muffins?

I'm looking for a recipe. I was thinking about altering the "new innovation" recipe - maybe make it not quite so wet and adding and egg. And then frying after the second rise. Think it would work?

I haven't made these but I usually love Alton Brown, I don't know if these qualify as TF but they will likely work if nothing else.

Thanks! I wonder if I could sub butter for the shortening? But I'm sure what I could use to replace the dry milk. . .
