had a little more brown discharge this morning then none, the last few hours I have been very crampy but no real tightening of uterus that I can tell but I am so crampy and have lower back pain too, could I be contracting? that sounds so stupid

i had some cramping yesterday, too, but cramping and contractions, at least in my experience, are different. cramping, for me, is this sort of ongoing ache (sometimes accompanies by backache), and contractions have a beginning, middle and end and have the belly tightening aspect to them. not that i don't think the cramping has an effect, too! i think it does. was it a rough internal exam? that could be causing your discharge and cramping; or if he swept your membranes.
