She made it and we made it!!
We're beyond joyful to announce the problem-free, intervention-free, drug-free water homebirth (after C-Section with dd1) of our new little baby girl. She was born at 3:04pm PST on April 2, 2007 after only one hour of active labor (mw told me later that normal time is around 12 hours).
It was a very fast birth and she came like a little torpedo and seems very, very happy to be with us.
I could not be more grateful to our fabulous MW and the incredibly powerful help of my amazing husband Pete and my best friend Nicky, who I've known since high school in Germany. Their selfless help and encouragement and non-stop attention to my every little word and gesture made this birth possible. Lis was able to guide me through the pushing stage of our 9 lbs baby with just a very, very small tear.
Yes, she is a 9lbs baby, and she is 21 inches long and nurses like a champion already.
The water birth was a fantastic experience that I would not trade for anything in this world.
