Has anyone here read Becky Bailey's books, There's got to be a better way, discipline that works or Easy to love, difficult to discipline

Her books were reccomended to me by a friend but I have never heard of her before. The things my friend said about it sounded ap and so did her site, but I didn't want to spend the money buying the book unless it was gentel.

Hi Morgaine,
I just received my copy of Easy to Love Difficult to Discipline from Powells yesterday! Haven't read much of it yet, but from what I got out of the intro and 1st chapter I think it will be good. I was surprised by the beginning message of the book, it basically says that this book is for YOU because until YOU learn self-control and discipline.... how can you expect that behaviour from your child? : Duh! I would recommend it. I think it will be good especially for my dh who is naturally more like my oldest ds, they are not neat tidy people naturally.... and I have been telling him that we have to lead by example. If he (dh) leaves EVERYTHING where it falls on the floor how are our kids going to learn to pick up? That was one example listed in the book so far. Happy reading if you decide to order it.

I loved "Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline". Be forewarned, though, it changed the way I view my children's behavior and my reactions to it drastically and permanently. It radically changed the way I approach parenting, and in some ways, ignorance was bliss, lol. Now I am forced to do things differently than I did before, but I know it's working and it's right for my family.

Really, it's the best book on discipline I've ever read, and I've read a few.

This book has been a real eye opener for me, the previous poster is right about it being about about changing my behaviour way more than its about the "right things to do with the kids".

Yes, Easy to Love was life changing for me as well. I highly recommend it.

Easy to Love is an awesome AP parenting book. I don't care for the cover much , but the book itself is great.

I would also recommend, perhaps even more than Easy to Love, Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves by Naomi Aldort and Connection Parenting by Pam Leo.

Good Luck!

I had the Easy to Love book checked out of the library before Christmas, but never did get around to reading it before returning it. From the recommendations here it sounds like I should check it out again and actually read it this time!

Yep, I thought Easy to Love was great. In the same vein, Parenting from the Inside Out was also excellent.
