How to take butter oil

Can you tell me how you take butter oil? I don't really like the taste when I melt it onto food and I need 1 teaspoon a day.

Thanks,
Jen

I either swallow it in small pills (but sometimes gag at the taste) or melt it in oatmeal--I eat mine with salt and no sweetener and somehow the butter oil tastes ok in it. I've had it on toast as well with cheese on top, as the cheese masks the taste. I'm finding that I'm getting a bit more used to the taste, but not as quickly as I expected. I can drink down CLO no problem now, but not HVBO! Strangely dd1 loves the taste and when I give dd2 her CLO, dd1 asks for "yellow stuff" (dd2 won't eat the butter oil though--funny!).

I had to give up on the butter oil. I couldn't stand the taste, the smell, the texture, the whole experience really lol. My kids couldn't deal with it either.

hmm funny. I haven't tried butter oil yet but it always sounded more attractive than CLO. I still have to take CLO in capsule form, so I would likely have to do capsules with that as well.

I have empty capsules and I stuffed the butter oil into one today. The problem is that I need to make probably 4 or so to get a teaspoon. I was thinking of rolling the dose into a ball and swallowing it like a pill tomorrow.

Oh gawd I hate taking butter oil. I got some of the Green Pastures stuff, and every time I try to take it like a pill I start gagging. It's languishing in my fridge.

I take capsules. I'm a wuss and can't handle the taste (especially now that I'm pg). I know I'm not getting as much, but I also eat plenty of regular raw pastured butter.

Jen, I take my butter oil in a shot glass melted into a liquid and mixed with my CLO and enough water to fill up the glass. I have to drink some milk or juice first, plug my nose, gulp down the shot glass, chase it with more milk/juice, then eat something to get rid of the taste/smell. It's kind of a pain, but I think it's worth it. HTH

It's really not so bad to take a chunk and swallow it like a pill. It's very pliable stuff and you can make any shape you want, big or small. I'm about 3/4 the way through my first bottle, and now I can take big ol chunks and swallow them down. I bet I could even take it solid in a spoonful of yogurt or something, that might help if you're trying to disguise the taste...although I never taste it when I swallow it with milk or kombucha. I did taste it when I first got it, very, very yucky.

It tastes like bad butter with a strong grass taste. I don't really know how to describe it. I am going to do the form into a ball and swallow method form now on.
