"Going to Pop" -Vent

"Wow, you're going to pop any minute, aren't you?"

Does this phrase annoy anyone else as much as it annoys me? I am not a violent person at all, but I swear I have to physically hold myself back when someone says it to me.

I heard similar comments today from the staff at my dds' dentist's office. Sigh.

once i start hearing this, I'll do like i did last time:

"yep, you're probably right, I really might just start gushing placenta out at any moment. better watch your shoes."

say it w/a deadpan for the best effect.

i say, "how would you feel if someone told you that you looked like you were about to explode?" it works on my friends, at least.

Yeah...I've been geting the "you are really exploding" remark sense about 4mos and I thought that was bad...the "you're gonna pop" gets to me even more....and you know what totally killed me today!? I had noit 1 but 2 people say "wow- I didn't expect to see you here today" ...GEEZ- I have up to 5 more weeks - CHILL OUT!!!

Yeah...or like today when I was getting up from the conference room and the sales manager just laughed as I struggled out of the chair...not funny!

People think they're sooo funny too when they say it. : That is one thing I don't miss about being pregnant. About 2 days before DS was born I had a guy ask me "how many" I had "in there". I told him 4 or 5.

I know!!! I am so ready to have my own body again - and I am not just talking about being in shape - I just mean feeling in control and like I can move around!!! People do not get it!!!

I can not stand the "pop" ? I have a friend who calls every few days to ask if I have POPPED yet she is lucky she lives far far away! I am not going to pop I am going to give birth! I am not sure why this bothers me I am not one to get my feathers ruffled by semantics but man I want to freak out on her every time she says it!

oh, yes, love that too. I got my first, "you haven't had that baby yet." Of course this was a day before I even turned 37 weeks. I guess they we will shocked even more when I show up again at church this week with no baby.

i HATE when people use the word pop. i don't mind too much if they would say "oh, you haven't had the baby yet" or "you look like your ready" or something....but POP?!??! yeah...that's great.

I was just venting to DH about this last night.

A female coworker (who has two HS-aged kids of her own) said, "Wow, look at you! You're going to explode!"

I just looked at her and told her that I was pretty sure that I wouldn't.

thats a good one, I might barrow it for the "are you SURE you are not having twins?" Yes- I am sure, I have had probably 4-5 ultrasounds done, and they have only ever picked up one heartbeat and felt one baby...but for whatever reason people like to make that comment.

I think people don't realize that they are not the only one to ask you/ There are 170+ people in my office and I get comments constantly!

The 'pop' thing bugs me most of all because it makes me think of a cork coming out of a champagne bottle. And I KNOW it's not that easy. There is no 'pop'ping involved in childbirth. Grumble.

If I don't get this one I get "oh wow there is no way you are that pregnant...your baby must be really tiny"

When will people ever learn to keep there comments to themselves. Okay so you don't think I am that big...Meanwhile I feel like my legs are being ripped off and I am carring around a toddler in there
