First, congratulations to all the new Mommies out there. I'm so glad to finally be a part of the club!
Scarlet joined us at 1:20am on Wednesday, April 4 and she's just perfect.
I started having bloody show on the 2nd, so I knew it would be soon. On the 3rd, I called my midwife in the morning just to let her know things were progressing. Later that evening, my contractions were getting stronger and blood was redder. I called her at 10:30pm to tell her. We were both hoping to get some sleep that night. However, at 11:00pm, my water broke. By midnight, I was having a very strong contraction and called her again. She was then on her way. I was sitting on the toilet and had my dh run a hot bath.
MW got to my house at 12:45. By this time I was in the bath tub. We were planning on using the birthing tub, but didn't want to bother with it at that hour. Plus, it would have taken too long. I was pushing soon after MW arrived and at 1:20, that beautiful little girl popped out. And I was pleasantly surprised that my ds slept through the whole thing.
She weighed 7lbs, 10oz, 21 inches long and was alert and cooing from the moment she was born. Labor was intense, but, heck, I can't complain about what, 2-3 hours?! I feel very blessed.
I am so glad she is here. Now I need to find some clothes that fit.
