First m/w appt *pout*

Had my first m/w appt today. It went well, she said everything looks good. Had the pap and all that icky stuff. They took about a gallon of blood. But she wasn't able to hear the h/b on the doppler. She said thats really really common and not to worry about it. In fact before she even tried she made me promise not to worry if she couldn't hear because I'm still pretty early...O'well.

I love my m/w she's AWESOME. Let DH see my cervix. LOL and said that she'd walk DH through how to catch the baby because I want him to catch him/her. I'm excited...of course she'll be right behind him but Dh will catch him. YEA!

My m/w couldn't hear my baby's heartbeat either. I almost didn't want her to try because I knew at 8 weeks (last week) there wasn't much chance of hearing it, but of course, I couldn't say no. Hopefully she'll be able to hear it soon!

Awww, I remember how disappointed I was when they couldn't hear the heartbeat at my first appt for DD. Even if you know it's not likely, it's still like you've left a bit of unfinished business.

But next time! Think of how exciting it will be then.

It's cool that your DH wants to catch the baby and your MW is so great with letting him participate.

My MW and I decided it was best not to even try at my 8w appt because even though I knew it was a slim chance that we'd hear it, I knew I'd freak if we didn't, KWIM? She said I could come back at 10w if I wanted to but I'm going to try to hold out until my 12w appt.

My MW didn't even try. She said at 7.5 weeks she knew she wouldn't find it. She said usually you first hear it around 12 weeks. My next appoint is at 11 weeks so I hope we hear it then.

It is so cool that DH wants to catch the baby -- i can't wait to meet him seomtime.

Dh is kinda freaked this deleivery -- after 33 hours and forcepts last time. So I don't think he'd be willing to try that......

My next apt is at 14 weeks so she said she'd try then. Yeah, I finally got DH talked into it...he's pretty excited about it.

Aimee- yup, got all moved. The apt is less than half the size so it's REALLY tough, but we're managing...We're no where near unpacked, but we're getting there. LOL.

I can't wait to hear it at 12 weeks though. I totally started tearing up when I heard DD's for the first time.

Sounds like you are working with an awesome MW. That is really good about DH wanting to be so involved. I got to catch Landon and my DH thought that was the most amaizing thing. So who knows, maybe I can talk him in to trying this time?

I have my MW appt tomorrow and she said we can try to hear the HB. I know the chances are slim, but I want to hear it so badly...
