The principal of a local school (private) is hosting with some parents, a support, networking, and educational group for friends and family of the LGBT community. The guy is really a wonderful person, and a community-builder. This school is very inspiring on many levels.

It's true we are really blessed to live where we do. From the outside, it may look rather stuffy old Yankee New England, but we've got a thriving hsing community, crunchy mamas, and many forward-thinking folks here. Sometimes I dream of better weather for longer periods of time , but I cannot imagine reinventing the wheel somewhere else.

Funny, because I live in California- supposedly a very crunchy place, but where I live everyone seems so mainstream!

I've noticed that many 'crunchy' , non mainstream people are quiet.

My silver mini van, male partner, or lack of dreds doesn't tell anyone anything about my solar heating & wind turbine plans, *or* my respect and hope that my fellow humans can their lives in ways whch are authentic to them.

Blah blah blah, all I am saying is you never know who lives next door, and what they truly think until you know them. 'Cause honestly, one just never knows.

I lived in OB in SD for a few years and it was a wonderful, alternative community of terrifi folks. CA has more going on than most places.
