40+weeks thread...

Well I am not actually over 40 weeks until tomorrow... today is my EDD. No signs of baby. To my suprise I feel really relaxed and peaceful. I'm really okay with baby waiting another 2weeks to arrive. I do have some worries that baby will be huge. right now I measure 43cm. DD was born 2 weeks early and was 8'7.
Not doing much to bring on labor other than moderate walking and EPO. I feel like I have a UTI but my UA was neg- baby must be down low. I have been having some minor contractions but nothing that really grabs my attention.

How are the other 40+ weekers doing????

40 and 2
I'm tired and crabby. DH has a cold and so he claims he can't do anything so I'm stuck with everything while he naps. :

Claire was in the hospital from last Saturday until Tuesday with a pneumonia. I'm so glad that the baby waited. Now that Claire is feeling better, I'm getting a bit impatient.

I'm 3cm and she could feel the bag. I'm busy drinking red raspberry leaf tea.

My EDD is actually sunday.
I'm happy that this baby did not come early (some of you know ds is still in the hospital from a broken femur). I'm feeling pretty relaxed as well, when I'm sitting down Walking, I look like a freak, the baby's pushing on my pelvis and it's not very comfortable. The urge to pee is non stop.
I'm getting contractions, nothing regular though. Rereading ds's birth story, it was about the same thing with him, and he came a week late.

I'd be happy this baby would come later than sooner so we could concentrate solely on her, instead of ds. Right now, she's pretty much pushed to the side, which kinda sucks for her.

So I'm not the only one with a little one that is sick/hurt! It just changes your focus.

I will be 40 wks on Monday. I had a bit of a breakdown last week when I saw the MW and nothing was happening...

Now that I have had time to reflect...I am feeling very calm. We have come up with a list of things that would be really good about our son coming late.

40w3d here, and i'm fine, aside from the constant phone calls. i could easily go another week and a half...or tonight! i'm measuring 37 weeks, so that's reassuring (i've had two 10-pound babies, so have been really trying to healthily grow a smaller one this time). the slow slide toward labor is a lot more tangible this time, with more and more contractions, occasional bouts of regular ones, then the easing off. every night, i think, "i could wake up in labor!" but this is my last pregnancy, so i really am savoring every last roll and kick. it's a nice moment.

Okay. So much for being calm and peaceful. I am 40w3d so I know I have plenty more time but I am starting to feel a little nutty . I am ready to have this baby!!! I try talking to the baby, telling him/her that it is great out here- so much love waiting for him/her. It seems the baby is not listening . Can I atleast loose some mucous??? I would be excited if I would just have some diarrhea.
My legs are swollen up to my knees, I have a chronic sore throat from the horrendus heartburn, I cant sleep, waddling is getting difficult, and my tummy feels like it will rip right open ( I am measuring 44cm now). Okay enough complaining. More than anything I look at the beautiful pics of the other babies and I am just crazy to have my own!!

How are the other 40+ weekers doing???

Still here! Had my 40wk appt today! M/W said that I am at 1 (still, for the past 4 weeks). BUT he has dropped down and she can feel his head (TMI: I figured as much since it felt WAY different when I was having fun with DH last nite!)

My m/w delivered 4 babies from Fri-Mon morning...she is sure I am due anytime One of the girls she delivered Friday had not dilated AT ALL when she was checked on Thursday.

Back pains and hip pains are increasing...good signs all...let's get this party started!

40wk1d today...I'm pretty miserable. I really really thought I'd have the baby by now. My family keeps calling every day to ask if I popped yet, I was tired of that a week ago! grrr.... My husband has finally accepted that he won't hurt the baby and is having sex with me but it's not working! I'm just so ready to experience homebirth!

40 and 5 today

I'm tired of the tea.
I did my time on the treadmill.
Now what????

My appointment is tomorrow and I'll get another non stress test. I had 2 last week.

I feel the same way indigo! hang in there...okay - I'm not 40 weeks yet, but I went 41 weeks with the first two and know how crazy making it can be....(For what its worth - nipple stipulation totally brought on babe number 2..I did it for a couple of hours before bed one night and had contractions while doing it. Then I got bored and discouraged and went to bed. I woke up four hours later in labor!)

sending you immediate labor vibes!!!!

a couple of hours of nipple stim????? I'm not sure I could do that.

I'm 40 and 6. Induction planned for Thursday morning. My parents have Thursday and Friday off. I'm 4 cm and have never dilated this far on my own before so maybe something will happen before now and then.

Wow 4 cm is good. I have been doing some nipple stimulation and I do notice strong contractions but I am not sure I could do a couple hours worth...ouch. I am 40w4d. I went for a long walk but nothing in the contraction department.

I hope your labor starts soon

I'm 40w3 today. Found out yesterday that baby flipped back to breech, so I'm freaking out (there are no vaginal breeches here -- if she stays breech, it'll either be a breech uc or a c/s). I had a Webster adjustment yesterday, another one scheduled tomorrow as well as an acupuncture/moxibustion appointment, and a version on Thursday.

Other than that, I'm fine. No swelling, bG & bp are fine, the chiro is keeping my back & hips functional ... just hanging in there.

Think happy thoughts for me, okay?

So should I break out the breast pump already and use that for nipple stimulation? That's a thought I hadn't considered before.... It would be nice to go on my own for once. Of course, I have way too many things to do tomorrow (one last trip to the grocery store to stock up for my parents, preschool, kindermusic, dance class, return nebulizer machine, a trip to the food co-op, suppose to stop by work to sign some papers) and we're getting 6 inches of snow tonight. Maybe I'll try the breast pump tomorrow night.

heathenmom: sorry about the breech. I've heard good things about the Webster maneuver. I hope that works for you. http://www.spinningbabies.com/

i'm here! I'm 40 weeks 2 days - I was due Sunday. I lost most of my mucous plug last Thursday, and started having bloody show on Sunday, which has sort of continued. I woke up with moderate contractions this morning at 2am, but they were irregular and sort of faded away. I'm mostly just going nuts.

Come on, baby!! I promise, it doesn't suck out here!
