I know it's normal during pregnancy from time to time, but ALL the time? For the past couple of days, I feel like I can't breathe so well. It's annoying!

No one else is having this problem right now? I want to know if there's anything I can do about it! :

Hi there! I'm due lat September but I'm always late so I should be heading over here some too...

Anyway, I am short of breath A LOT when pregnant. I think it has to do with how things get scrunched up inside. I tend to carry pretty high so that might be why. I taught a two hour breastfeeding class the other night while sitting the entire time and I was panting.

I think what your experiencing is within the normal range so I wouldn't worry.

I've been getting it a little, mostly when talking a lot while walking, or climbing the flights of stairs in the subway or up to my apartment. Everything feels very scrunchy in there, so that's what I attribute it to. As for what to do...I don't know. I'm just planning to try to get a little more exercise in so that I have a better lung capacity.

i have shortness of breath too, especially when i am talking and walking.... i have also been coughing since about december, and it feels like i am coughing because of shortness of breath, like my lungs aren't opening all the way. of course i told my midwife about it and she said that my cough has nothing to do with being pregnant....

but i did read an article recently that 1 in 100 women develop asthma when pregnant even if they have NEVER had it before. ANd this study (it was a UK study) said it was more prevalent in women carrying girls. don't know how credible it is, but it did get me to make an appt me to see my doctor. my appt is on the 16th, so i can fill you guys in after that if you are curious as to what she says.

Anemia and dehydration make this symptom worse, but sometimes it is jsut there and really annoying (I have it to a degree with each but it was HORRIBLE with dd2). As far as asthma, I already have it, and to me it feels different then feeling short of breath all the time. But mine is under control. It couldn't hurt to get checked out, because left unchecked asthma, even mild asthma, is NOT fun and will only get worse.

I've got it. It comes and goes, but is not linked to exercise. Highly annoying.

Good to see it's linked to dehydration... that would explain why it went away after I drank a bottle of water.

I have had this sometimes, though not last few days. I always sit or even lie down when it happens.

It's not as bad today. I guess it's just going to come and go. I hate it though.

I went to my son's ballgame on Friday night. Walking back to the car (maybe 100 yards), I felt like I had just run a marathon. It took me several minutes sitting in the driver's seat to catch my breath. DH was there (he drove seperate because he was there early) trying to decide if he should drive me home and have one of the other dads bring him back to get the other car. THAT was when I decided without a doubt, I am done working for this pregnancy
