What's your worst food aversion?

Mine is garlic!!! Ugh. And normally I love it. That and coffee! A few weeks ago, right before morning sickness hit, I made something called "Drunken Garlic Crockpot Roast" and I used the drippings to make gravy, along with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. It was all so good!!! The recipe called for 24 cloves of garlic which I used. A few hours after dinner, I had another helping and immediately came down with the worst heartburn/reflux ever. The garlic would not stay down and it hurt so bad! In the following week I had some hummus with a bit of garlic and noticed the same heartburn/reflux. If I have even the tiniest bit of garlic, I get heartburn. It's awful! And now, I can't even stand the smell of garlic!

And the coffee, is almost equally as bad, but was a gradual aversion. I drank it for the first few weeks, but gradually enjoyed it less and less. Yesterday morning, I was feeling quite nauseous, but hadn't thrown up. I thought I was going to be okay. I started walking down the stairs after showering and the smell of freshly made coffee hit me and I had to run back upstairs to my bathroom. Ugh! I won't keep dh from his coffee, but smelling it does make my mornings a bit tougher.

So, what is it for you?

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was feeling crazy having such a strong aversion to garlic. And onions are up there too, but not as bad as garlic for me.

Mine seems to come and go. One day it's fruit, the next it's something else. Instead of certain foods it seems to be certain times of the day and certain days.

Raw meat- especially chicken. I think we will all have to become vegetarians until the ms passes - not a bad thing!

The coffee aversion has come and gone already, thankfully. Between nausea, pregnancy exhaustion and lack of caffeine I was feeling pretty rough there for a couple weeks. Now I'm back to my 1 cup a day, usually.

Biggest aversions are sweet things and grilled ribs, which I normally love. I can't tell you how many PB&J sandwiches I've packed for lunch, then ended up eating out b/c I couldn't stand the thought of eating them! I also choked down a couple pieces of birthday cake over the past week but it tasted weird. Before I got pg I had grilled ribs every weekend as a ritual, now I really don't like the thought of it and it's driving DH crazy b/c he wants his ribs!

Thank goodness I don't have a garlic or onion aversion - I totally enjoyed my Indian food for lunch and leftovers for dinner! Sorry if that grossed anyone out...

For some reason, the thought of chicken makes me gag. I don't know why, especially since I typically love buffalo wings. It's odd... several things have made me feel sick after bringing them for lunch. It's like my brain in the morning is totally different than my brain in the afternoon which is totally different than my brain at night. I wish my brain could get itself in sync!

Okay, this is getting ridiculous! The smell of new shoes nearly did me in tonight.

Garlic and onions have been bad for me, too. Any kind of curry or soup, or anything that is heavy on spices. Oh, rice and couscous are out.
Fruit is fine, bread is fine, beans are fine. Other things are fine when I'm in the mood for them.

Yes, that is why I'm having so much trouble cooking. I prefer things like cold cereal, applesauce, Luna Bars, etc, since they don't really have a scent.

Citrus. I used to eat an orange or grapefruit 5-6 times a week, but just the sight of it now gives me heartburn.
That, and most anything sweet. Normally I love to bake so MIL asked for a cake for her birthday and it took me forever to find something to make that wouldn't make me gag.

Mine is mexican food and coffee. Which is strange- the mexican food was what I was craving at the beginning, and I ate so much of it. Now I can't even think about it. The coffee.. well, the thought of it sends me running to the bathroom.

The really strange thing for me is: whenever I eat something, i enjoy it, but 10 minutes later I can't stand the thought of it. Like I have developed a sudden aversion to it. I had lasagne for lunch today (2 hours ago) and now I feel like hurling at the thought of it.

I can't stand to even think about chocolate or ice cream.... my son and husband were drinking a milkshake and I started to gag... Blech! I'm normally a crazy chocoholic....and I've got a box of cadbury cream eggs downstairs that has remained untouched for TWO WEEKS! lol

I only wish I could continue my chocolate/sweets aversion AFTER pregnancy....that'd help me tremendously! lol

Mine is Chicken which sucks because I LOVE chicken!
A few weeks ago I made a Chicken Dill Sandwich (you fry the chicken breasts in garlic/butter/dill mixture and then grill French bread and add cream cheese mixed with dill weed and put it all together)...this is something I dream about even when I'm not pregnant, but when I made it we had purchased a different brand of chicken breasts and they were horrible!!! Now I can't even stand the thought of chicken, even typing this is making me queasy...

It seems like whatever you get sick on in the beginning of your pregnancy is your worst aversion.

garlic has always trashed my stomach (even non pg) evidently it is some weird hereditary enzyme deficiency.. so now it is really a mess!

Chocolate or anything sweet , and I usually have to fight a sweet tooth.. so I am LOVING not wanting it! Hope that stays

raw animal flesh// gack.. anything undercooked or squishy..
