Madison Faith is here!-long

Madison Faith was born Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 7 a.m.
She was 6lbs 3oz. and 19 inches long.

I woke up at 4:30 am having bad cramping. I realized quickly I was not going to be timing contractions for an hour so got DH up. A friend came over to stay with the girls and we were at the hospital by 5:30. I was 6-7cm already. But baby had turned again and was breech. I had to have a c-section. I waited at least another hour before they were able to give me the spinal. I was in so much pain and so frustrated because I knew it was for nothing because I was going to have to have the c-section at this point.

Madison Faith is healthy at 36 weeks. The c-section sucked and I can't imagine why anyone would choose to have one. The hospital has been great though which has helped since I hadn't prepared myself for having a c-section. The baby was kept with us the whole time. I held her as I was rolled over to recovery and nursed her while I was there the first two hours. I overheard them encouraging another mom in recovery to nurse the baby asap. Madison was sent with DH to the nursery after I was in a regular room to get bathed and checked. No one has even tried to give her a bottle. That part has been great. I'm having a harder time recovering. This is so different then a vaginal birth. Things at home are going to be much harder too not being able to pick up the girls etc for a longer period of time. That's my update from now.

Congrats on the sweet baby girl! Sorry your birth didn't go exactly as planned, it sounds like it went as well as you could hope for a section though! Enjoy your babymoon

Congrats mama!! Huge hugs as well. My first c-section was because my son was breech and I was also in labor at the time so it was a dissappointment. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Congrats on your baby girl!!
C-sections are rarely what we hope for, but at least you were able to have the respect you deserve at the hospital. Hope you have a quick recovery!

Congratulations on your little girl!

The time you were waiting for your spinal wasn't for nothing! Those contractions were doing good things for your babe.

congrats! I hope that recover gets better for you. It sounds like a pretty good hospital experience though, it is too bad all hospitals were not that way.
