Madison Faith was born Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 7 a.m.
She was 6lbs 3oz. and 19 inches long.
I woke up at 4:30 am having bad cramping. I realized quickly I was not going to be timing contractions for an hour so got DH up. A friend came over to stay with the girls and we were at the hospital by 5:30. I was 6-7cm already. But baby had turned again and was breech. I had to have a c-section. I waited at least another hour before they were able to give me the spinal. I was in so much pain and so frustrated because I knew it was for nothing because I was going to have to have the c-section at this point.
Madison Faith is healthy at 36 weeks. The c-section sucked and I can't imagine why anyone would choose to have one. The hospital has been great though which has helped since I hadn't prepared myself for having a c-section. The baby was kept with us the whole time. I held her as I was rolled over to recovery and nursed her while I was there the first two hours. I overheard them encouraging another mom in recovery to nurse the baby asap. Madison was sent with DH to the nursery after I was in a regular room to get bathed and checked. No one has even tried to give her a bottle. That part has been great. I'm having a harder time recovering. This is so different then a vaginal birth. Things at home are going to be much harder too not being able to pick up the girls etc for a longer period of time. That's my update from now.
