December 2007 Roll Call - Page 10

I just checked this sticky for the first time today. I'm still learning the ropes around here.

Name: Lisa
Age: 42
Due Date: 12-15
Pregnancy #: 7, but only third child here with us
Family (partner and/or other children): married to John 16 years on 12/21, dd13 who is autistic and dd6 who isn't.
Birth Plans/Preferences: home water birth with a midwife
Baby's Gender (if you have found out) and/or name(s) (if you've decided): It's a boy, but we haven't chosen a name.
Anything else you'd like to share: I love to scrapbook. I cloth diapered my 2nd dd and was horribly addicted to Luke's Drawers and Bumkins. lol I breastfed dd1 until she was 19 m, and dd2 until she was 3 3/4. We cosleep, usually until about age 2-3, or whenever kiddo seems to want to sleep alone. NO CIO or spanking. I am a behavior consultant for families with children with autism-I help them set up in-home treatment programs for their children. I only work 10-12 hours per week.

It's awfully late to join in here, but I'm enjoying getting to know you ladies even at this late date, so I guess I'd better do my part too.

Name: Amity
Age: 28
Due Date: Winter 2007. That's as specific as you're getting! Ha! Though since I'm on the December boards, I guess you can figure we think it's likely to happen in that month.
Pregnancy #: 1
Family (partner and/or other children): Married to Joel since December 2001.
Birth Plans/Preferences: Home waterbirth with a fly-on-the-wall birth attendant.
Baby's Gender (if you have found out) and/or name(s) (if you've decided): We won't know until the Wombat is born whether it's a boy or a girl, but possible names are Faelan Warwick or Merewen Mab, unless we change our minds at the last minute.
Anything else you'd like to share: Y'all are an inspiration.

Amity, Faelan is one of my all time favoritefavoritefavorite baby names!! I would absolutely name this baby Faelan whether it was a boy or girl. The only reason I'm not is because I have a friend who's son is named Faelan AND because it's not my husband's favorite. Bummer. But that's a name that's on my permanent list of favorite names that maybe SOMEday I'll get to use.

Oh and also, welcome to the DecDDC group!!

Thanks, Aubrey! It is SO nice to hear good things about Faelan - everyone else I've told it to has complained about the spelling or worse. :

Dude, we named our last kid Xeowyn. We know allllll about people thinking we're weird & so are our kids names. You know what? I don't care!!! And Faelan is AWESOME.

Xeowyn? That's gorgeous!

The funny thing is, half of my family and friends aren't complaining because they think it's weird - they are complaining because they think we should be using alternate spellings. (Faolain, Phelan, I forget what else.)

Name: Ursula
Age: 29
Due Date: 12-11
Pregnancy #: 1
Family (partner and/or other children): Best Man Ever, my Mike
Birth Plans/Preferences: water home birth with midwife
Baby's Gender (if you have found out) and/or name(s) (if you've decided): I was so excited to find out! 20-week u/s was the day after my birthday, it was all I wanted for my present. And...I found out that I have a modest Bean. Flexible (the evasion tactics were contortionist-worthy), but modest. So now when everybody asks me what it is, I just tell them I'm pretty sure it's a baby.
Anything else you'd like to share: Amazing pregnancy, can't wait for my amazing baby.
