My DW sends me an e-mail a couple of minutes ago with the title, "NOT FAIR!" with a link to your story. After her 24+ hour labor this past Monday, she has room to be jealous ;-)

How long was your first labor?

Oh my gosh! That is an incredible story, I congratulate you on your amazing birth! Way to go hubby to deal with it all so calmly- although it must have been a nightmare trying to get a hold of someone! Huge congratulations, welcome Calla!

This is the first birth story I've read this pregnancy.. I started crying when your husband bundled you two up and made the nest in the bathroom, what a wonderful story thank you for sharing!!!

Awwww! I got goosebumps when I read your post! I feel priviledged (sp?) that mine was the first story that you read! Congrats on your pregnancy and wishing you a beautiful labor also!

Sorry I kind of abandoned the DDC. I really do think of you guys often, but don't have much time to get on. I'm too busy kissing tiny fingers and fat little cheeks!

We have a middle name for her now. Her name is Calla Grace W----. Grace just has a nice, peaceful sound to it and we thought she'd need something a little more common to offset her first name.

A few of you have asked how long my first labor was. Actually, my first two labors were textbook 8 hours, starting out slow and gradually building up. I pushed for about 20 minutes each time, give or take. They were both still fabulous births that I wouldn't trade for the world.

I expected a similar experience for birth #3, but Calla wanted to make a memorable entrance.........I wonder if she's setting the stage for the rest of her life?
