OK, OK, I'm here!!! I'm going to try and keep up this time! Hopefully with my new burst of energy that won't be such a challenge.

Celeste, I so wish I had the inclination to blog about, well, anything! I can write an essay or journal article like nobody's business but when I try to chronicle day-to-day I just come up blank. It's the same story as trying to keep a journal - tried a couple times and they end up largely blank. I'm in awe of the bloggers of the Universe!

Anyway, you can read a bit about what we're doing here:

Full Circle Farm

I'm actually in the process of getting the website revamped (ideas welcome!) and was thinking of including a blog done by our new garden manager, who blogs his home gardening endeavors beautifully.

It's a nonprofit, educational organic farm that's going to be on 11 acres of school land in an urban, largely low-income district in the Bay Area. The land is basically donated to us by the District but the funds for getting started are up to, well... me.

I never, ever would have imagined something like this coming to me! It's both an incredible blessing, and more than a tiny bit stressful. I'm trying to keep enjoying it even though there are a lot of complicated steps to making it happen. I'm back to a place where I can TRUST that this will happen with ease. Of course the 100K doesn't hurt.

I'm going to try your exercize, KoalaMama. I DO have the time to stop and appreciate myself!

Melanie! (KoalaMama) I got the video yesterday! Thank you I haven't watched it yet but maybe when we get back from the inlaws I'll sit down and pop it in Thank you so much!

Ooooo, good idea

Celesterra, I love your etsy shop

Ok, now I'm wondering how many other LOA type etsy things there are I don't have a shop yet but yeah, some of my ideas are LOA and switch word inspired Does anyone else have any shops or other websites to share? We can link to a business site in a post right?

Darwinphish that is really cool

I realized last night I need to establish some routines for this LOA stuff. I'm feeling GREAT right now but, as Bill Harris said in one of his interviews, I think I'm mostly on auto-pilot right. I am manifesting some of this, yes, but not totally on purpose. I've especially noticed that my giving thanks and blessing food and all that is sort of haphazard. I do it when I think of it which sometimes means often and sometimes means not at all.

I was thinking of Flylady. I was on her system years ago. The one thing that totally stuck was making my bed. I get up in the morning and I make my bed like clockwork. I don't even have to think about it, I just do it. It's just become automatic. I need to do that with my LOA stuff. I need to link it to something so that it becomes second nature. The problem is that it's hard because I'm not much of a routine/scheduled kind of gal. Waking up and going to sleep are about my only definites

This is the OSHO Tarot card that I turned today.
Quote:

67. Rebirth

http://www.osho.com/magazine/tarot/p...068Rebirth.jpg

Rebirth
In Zen you are coming from nowhere and you are going to nowhere. You are just now, here, neither coming nor going. Everything passes by you; your consciousness reflects it but it does not get identified. When a lion roars in front of a mirror, do you think the mirror roars? Or when the lion is gone and a child comes dancing, the mirror completely forgets about the lion and starts dancing with the child--do you think the mirror dances with the child? The mirror does nothing, it simply reflects. Your consciousness is only a mirror. Neither do you come, nor do you go. Things come and go. You become young, you become old; you are alive, you are dead. All these states are simply reflections in an eternal pool of consciousness.

Osho Osho Live Zen, Volume, 2 Chapter 16
Commentary: This card depicts the evolution of consciousness as it is described by Friedrich Nietzsche in his book, Thus Spake Zarathustra. He speaks of the three levels of Camel, Lion and Child. The camel is sleepy, dull, self-satisfied. He lives in delusion, thinking he's a mountain peak, but really he is so concerned with others' opinions that he hardly has any energy of his own. Emerging from the camel is the lion. When we realize we've been missing life, we start saying no to the demands of others. We move out of the crowd, alone and proud, roaring our truth. But this is not the end. Finally the child emerges, neither acquiescent nor rebellious, but innocent and spontaneous and true to his own being. Whatever the space you're in right now--sleepy and depressed, or roaring and rebellious--be aware that it will evolve into something new if you allow it. It is a time of growth and change.
Ok, there are no co-incidences, of course. Melanie's question was "'What I love about me". This Tarot card is about "I Celebrate Myself". It is depict as "what one needs to understand".

Quote:
77. We Are The World

http://www.osho.com/magazine/tarot/p...reTheWorld.jpg We Are The World
When thousands and thousands of people around the earth are celebrating, singing, dancing, ecstatic, drunk with the divine, there is no possibility of any global suicide. With such festivity and with such laughter, with such sanity and health, with such naturalness and spontaneity, how can there be a war?... Life has been given to you to create, and to rejoice, and to celebrate. When you cry and weep, when you are miserable, you are alone. When you celebrate, the whole existence participates with you. Only in celebration do we meet the ultimate, the eternal. Only in celebration do we go beyond the circle of birth and death.

Osho I Celebrate Myself Chapter 4
Commentary: Humanity is depicted here as a rainbow of beings, dancing around the mandala of the earth with their hands joined together in joy and gratitude for the gift of life. This card represents a time of communication, of sharing the riches that each of us brings to the whole. There is no clinging here, no grasping. It is a circle without fear of feelings of inferiority and superiority. When we recognize the common source of our humanity, the common origins of our dreams and longings, our hopes and fears, we are able to see that we are all joined together in the great miracle of existence. When we can combine our tremendous inner wealth to create a treasure of love and wisdom that is available to all, we are linked together in the exquisite pattern of eternal creation.

Basically just beads for extra appreciation that we can use to focus on anything else around us as we're inclined. Then I'd like to start a daily ritual of working with the beads to appreciate how blessed we are. I'll let you know how it turns out! I was listening to MCAL's boyfriend this morning and he was saying something about the LoA being one of 7 universal laws.

What are the other six?

I found these
Law of Attraction (LoA): Thoughts Manifest Reality
Law of Energy (LoE): Attention Directs Energy.
Law of Power (LoP): All Power Originates Within
Law of Freedom (LoF): Anything is Possible.
Law of Now (LoN): Now Is The Only Time You Can Do Anything.
Law of Love (LoL): Love Is Happiness
Law of Truth (LoT): Effectiveness Is the Measure of Truth

but they aren't the ones he was talking about.

Something with polarity. I am fascinated and want to learn more!

Oh! New super cool idea! Anyone want to do a bead swap for a necklace? We could 'charge' the beads with our love and good intentions, and then send them out to anyone interested in participating. Imagine how powerful that would be!!

Pat - love the cards, thanks! Very cool.

My one and only intention last week was to find ways for me to reach out to dh more. It totally worked. I don't know why I was sort of *stuck* in this area before. It was almost like a fear. Now it's GONE..

I LoA!

My intentions for this week:
For the Universe to handle:
dd's final weaning

for me to remain ever-patient, calm and loving w/everyone.

To get some final large chunks of work done while V is still here.

For an easy, joyful and peaceful transition (for all of us) when V leaves.

To continue reaching out to dh and to feel completely free expressing love and affection.

Okay, here comes the longest multi-quoting I've ever done. :

Pull out a notebook (or open a Word document!) and at the top of the page write 'What I love about me.' Every day for the next week, write as many things as you can that you love about yourself. Write AT LEAST five things a day. It might seem hard at first as many of us are not used to self-appreciation. But don't worry - the more wonderful things you find, the more wonderful things you'll find! LoA in action. After day one, you might find it helpful/inspiring to start by reading your list to-date.

Remember, the 'smallest' thing at all is worthy of writing down... For example, "I love the shape of my lips" or "I love that I bake fantastic chocolate chip cookies". You could even start with "I love that I am giving myself this gift of self-appreciation."

Have fun, and don't forget to post at the end of the week and say how it went!
I adore your assignments! Will you make one every week? : I'm totally doing this.

Oh, and Koala, about the bead necklaces, I'm in!
I am up for the challenge for the week. DS and I list our 3 favorite things and 3 gratefulls at the end of each day.

I have been in a really bad mood today. DH and I are just not on the same page about money at all. Or about our thoughts/beliefs regarding stuff. Very frustrating. I know I need to let go and focus on me. I will do that. Too much yelling and screaming which makes me feel really bad. I realized though that I rarely speak my mind with DH because he throws everything critical I ever say back up in my face at some point or another. He is very quick to look at all the wrong I do and tell me all about how I am not doing very well. Enough ranting.

More positive.

Question...kids...what can I ask instead of "what's wrong?" I am trying to think of a more positive way to approach them when they are upset. Any thoughts?

Off too read more of the thread. Keeping up is challenging. Oh, and I am planning out my treasure map ideas, doing some soul searching.

We did this for my friend's "Mother Blessing". We each selected beads and sent them to a one of her friends and she made a bead necklace for her for support during labor. Each friend wrote a message to the baby also; and our friend placed all of the messages onto a memory board and framed it! It was inspirational.

We could do something similar. Maybe have everyone purchase x number of glass/stone/handmade beads (like 10), and send them to a single person who distributes them. Or, make duplicates of some inspirational message that we all share with each other. This could be done on-line also. Something like "Manifesting Masters Affirmations" and each have a copy. She typed up the messages in "newletter" format. So that they were not just listed one after the other.

What are your thoughts?

The only thing that really stuck for me was the bathroom wipe down. We only have one, so it can get nasty FAST. And ds is still in dipes! It's so interesting hearing what other FLyLady dropouts have been able to keep!

Can you ask "What's up?" or "What's going on?" A LOT more neutral!
I don't really want to discuss details because religion and LoA kind of brought up some issues, but I am having some issues with community and religion.

Maybe this is because I am spiritual and learning more each day but not religious, and yet I'm searching for a community through a church. Am I setting myself up for failure here? Because over the past couple of days, I have gotten some really negative messages about community and/or religion.

Anyone have any insights about what is going on? I'm hoping that this is all because something really good is about to manifest, and I have to get through some unpleasant stuff and thoughts first.

How about "Would you like to tell me how you feel?"

Love the idea of one person distributing all the beads! I'd happy do that, but I'm in Canada so depending on where most people participating live, it might make sense for someone in the US to take in all the beads. How about anyone interested raise your hand, or PM me, and we'll go from there? (Is this ok within MDC rules? I hope so!)

And outside of the bead idea, I just love the idea of sharing inspirational messages! I picked up some *gorgeous* business card stock yesterday to print some of my favourites on, and was thinking of all of you when I did it. Maybe people would be interested in a card swap of some sort as well??

I ask with sincere interest "What happened?" You could also ask "How are you feeling, you look sad/mad/upset/angry/frustrated/lonely?" Or just "How can I help?" or "We'll work it out." or "We can work it out." This seems to be what I say outloud, to myself mostly, when emotions start to amp up.

With dh, could you consider that dh is venting about his sense of "instability/unpredictability" and fears about a situation, rather than taking the comments as about *you* and your actions. "Criticism" generally comes from a sense of "danger" of the "what ifs" and "or else". We learned *fear* in childhood and felt threatened, so we start trying to *control* the outcome by controlling everything around us. (Children of alcoholics are especially prone to this.) There is a saying 'we control others, when we feel out of control'. So, any second-guessing, or questioning your actions, or criticism of the outcomes is related to an unmet need of his. If you can hold a place for your sense of feeling judged and scared of his opinion AND seek to understand what feels scary or threatening to him, you probably won't see the words as about *you* as quickly. It is a shift to focus on what is he *feeling*, rather than what I need to "defend".

Something along the lines of "I can hear dh's needs and feel safe" might help to open you to the possibilities of what underlies his words. Focus on what you *do want* (to understand), not what you don't want, which is what happens when we *defend* ourselves, ime.

This article from The Center for Non-violent Communication (NVC) helps to articulate the steps of reflective listening for understanding and connection. http://www.cnvc.org/bookchap.htm It has changed my life. I certainly didn't have effective communication (or connection) models in childhood.

Hope that helps.
