when they're out of school

For those of you with 2 or more school aged children, how do they get along on the days they are out of school? Mine have argued so much this past week during spring break that I'm beginning to dread summer break.

lol mine argue alot too. I have 2 in school & 1 who'll be in school in the fall. I find these breaks to be easier than the 2.5weeks they get at Christmas because at least now & in the summer they can be put outside. At christmas it is often -30 or colder and they can't be.

Today I have my 3 who are 5, 6 & 8 and my neighbor's 2 who are 8 & almost 7. Little do they know that in a few mintues they're going to start cleaning bedrooms.lol if they fighting keeps up they may end up with more to do.

Mine can argue with the best of them. I have found that scheduling outings (i.e. zoo, musuem) helps keep it to a minimum. At least on the days we have outings.

Lots of bickering here too! Our Spring break is two weeks It's rainly most days so I can't just shoo them outside.

Mine don't argue anymore than usual. I agree with maybe keeping some activities scheduled though. We are usually out and about during breaks/summers a bit. My crew were homeschooled last year, so maybe that's why there isn't an increase. They just started public school back up in November.

mmmm hmmmmm! Mine have been going at it all week and just today I figured out what the deal was! We planned on being outside but it's been extra cold here all week. My 4 yo today just asked when school was starting again! I was sad because I felt bad I hadn't planned better, but happy that she enjoys school so much! But it's been the toughest week we've had. Our Christmas and winter breaks were soooo nice so I guess I just expected this to be the same, but ALL of our scheduled stuff is off this week so next time I'll know. We are planning a zoo trip or nature walk tomorrow even if it's only 45! And we are going to the mall right now to get them out and about then shopping! i feel bad I didn't expect this! funny!:

Mine need a period to reconnect. They do have issues on weekends and short breaks but after a week or two together they reconnect and things go better. Things go much better if I am looking forward to us all being together. If I am stressed about it, so are they.

Depends on the weather. If they can go outside and play or we can go to a playground they do fine, but winter break & rainy spring breaks don't work as well for them as summer vacation. Hopefully a rough spring break won't translate to a difficult summer for your kids.
