induction wednesday, can I go natural? update post #8

so I am being induced wed. morning 6:30am for borderline pre-e
But today I was 2cm dialated and he stripped my membranes to try to get me to go on my own before wed.
What are the chances?
with dd#1 I was in the hospital being induced he broke membranes and w/in 2hrs I lost plug and water broke
Today membranes were stripped 5hrs ago and nothing yet

ANYTHING else I can do to try to speed up a natural labor before the pitocin gets shoved in me wed morning??
drinking RRL tea, should I walk? Have sex (or will this cause infection?)
anything?
thanks ladies

With stripped membranes I would try castor oil (but that is me. It is not for everyone). You could also try nipple stimulation, manuel or double pump.
Good Luck

Again, this is only me, I would and almost did try castor oil when dd was 13 days late (I went naturally the night before I planned on taking it). I figure it is worth a try, though yucky (yet how much better than pitocen). Would they consider breaking your water?

I would try nipple stim manual or pump, if that didnt work I would also try castor oil.

Have sex, nipple stimulation and I would (and did twice) take castor oil if the alternative was Pit.

nipple stimulation worked for me past my due date last time...i would take castor oil over induction.

are you comfortable with your doc's 'borderline' diagnosis? just curious..my mw and I had a long talk about pre-e at my 37 week visit....really hoping your natural labor kicks in mamma!

I'm still here, lost mucus plug now, some at 3am the rest at 8am
very crampy and some tightening but not sure if its contractions
my third baby and I'm still not sure!
so I'm kind of freaking out not sure whats what, DH is at work 45min away dont know at what point to call him and tell him to come home since I dont know if I'm contracting!
when I was in the hospital w/ my other 2 I didnt really feel any of the early contractions, and I'm scared to home w/out dh and start having the BIG contractions!
lots of menstral type cramps right now

I thought everyone was lying about walking helping to get things moving, but I should have listened. If it is nice, go tke a walk. I timed my ctx and they were so regular, I could predict when they would start - that is when I was pretty sure "this was it"

GL! It sounds like things are chugging along

How exciting Susan! Do some walking this morning. Hopefully it will happen today!

Yes, go for a walk. And if its not a problem for dh to come home, perhaps spend some time with him as well.

Good Luck!

Menstrual cramps and tightening...you are having real contractions. Like the ppers said, take a walk and get things moving. If you can time your contractions, once they get to be regular, call your husband to come home. However, don't wait until they are too close. Once you have a few contractions that are about 4-5 minutes apart...call your husband to come home. If they stay 4 minutes apart, a minute long for an hour, go to the hospital....that's usually an indication of active labor. If you can sit on the toilet during some of those contractions, it will help. However, they WILL be exceptionally painful contractions, because you're bearing down on your cervix.....just breath through it and try to relax as much as possible. Good luck!!!
