At what point?

With #1, it broke on the toilet after a sleepless night of painful contractions 5-7 minutes apart. But I hadn't made ANY cervical change so "prior to labor"

#2 AROM'ed 4 hours into induction-babe born ~2 hours later.

Before transition. I was about 7 cm, contrax about 1.5-2 minutes apart, if I remember correctly.

Before transition both times.

My first birth, just before my twins were born.

My second birth, it happened way before labor started. After about 8h, I got on the breastpump and ctx started.

Wow- what a great idea with the breastpump!

I couldn't vote for more than one, so I voted "before ctx began".

#1 - Water broke and then I had ctx and then he was born 18 hours later.
#2 - My water broke 3 days before labor began. Then, broke again as she was crowing.
#3 - Broke at 31 weeks, then broke again at 41 weeks before any ctx. Then, 1 hour, 40 minutes later she was out & on my chest.

Both of mine, before labour started. w/ ds, I felt, almost heard something like an elastic band snapping, and then the trickle started. contrax started about an hour later. With dd, I didn't feel it, but the same thing happened... I got out of bed in the a.m. and realized I was trickling. Labour started about 10 hours later.

#1 and #2 don't count because of AROM at the hospital
#3 & #5 right before baby was born
#4 - Before labor started but labor was only 45 minutes so kind of also right before baby was born

With dd, my water broke about 15 minutes before contractions started.

With ds, my water broke only three pushes from the end. I suspect he would have been born in the caul if counterpressure hadn't been put on the sac when his shoulder got stuck. Up until that point, his head was coming down fine with the sac intact, but when his head started turtling and I started pushing *really* hard to try to get his shoulders down, the sac broke.

I put before contractions, but it could have been early labor. I woke up with my water broken, and started contractions by the time I got to the bathroom. I could have been in early labor without realizing it the whole evening before, though, I was really uncomfortable.

#1 was probably PROM. It was the very first sign of labor, before any contractions even started.

#2, I allowed the resident OB/GYN to break it for me just before transition (about 6-7cm of dilation).

Dd2 was born in the caul and it was a water birth.

With Dd1 I let the midwife do AROM hoping it would get things going more quickly....it hurt a lot more.

It was sometime during pushing, but when exactly I don't have the foggiest. I was in total labor land and exhausted.

Couldn't choose multiple options, so I voted "right before baby was born".
#1: Before contractions
#2: At the end of transition. Water broke and I HAD to push.
#3: While I was pushing, shortly before baby was born.

With my 1st two babies, labor started with my water breaking. Weird, huh? With dd (probably because of all the herbs and EO I was on) I had a tough bag of water and the mw broke it.

Holy cow there's a seriously disproportionate number of early SROMS in this group!
