I'm sick of food!!!

I just hate trying to eat. Nothing sounds good, everything stinks (and everyone, but that's another thread!), I can't hardly stand to cook, and I swear, everything has garlic in it! That's my absolute worst aversion this pregnancy. I can't wait for this phase to pass. And I feel terrible since dh is deploying soon and here I am letting him fiend for himself when it comes to food, do all the dishes, and of course, there's very little sex taking place. Man, I suck.

The only things that I really don't have an aversion to at all are fruit, Chocolate Peppermint Larabars, cereal and milk, and water and sprite. I don't think that's a very well rounded menu. Regular food is just not something I can really handle right now.

I can't remember how long this lasts, but I know it did not last for my entire pregnancies. I'm pretty sure in the second tri I started eating normally for the most part, but I kind of doubt the garlic aversion is going to go away anytime soon, and that just really sucks!

ETA: I'm grateful that at 9 weeks, my ms is much better, still there, but not as bad as last week. But the food aversions have not lightened up one bit.

I feel the same way. The queasiness has gotten better, but it's still so much work to think of something that doesn't turn me off, not to mention actually cooking. Eating: damned if do, damned if I don't.

I also noticed that garlic tasted funny to me earlier today and I was like NOOOOOO! Garlic is probably my favorite food.

I'm really sorry your spouse is being deployed. That sucks for him any time but especially now when you are growing a new child and need support.

Thanks for the support. I'm normal right?

I realized today that food has such an ability to make you happy or not. I've been so irritable and grumpy today and I really think it's mostly due to the fact that nothing sounds good to eat, and yet I'm hungry. If I wait 10 min. too long to eat, I get sick feeling. But of course, I always wait a half hour or more before eating because I can't think of anything that sounds good. My poor family.

I went and bought a sub tonight. There's a place called Lenny's that makes the best subs on earth and they have a hot pickle relish that has an amazing calming effect on my stomach. I think all the veggies and protein helps too. It's the one "food" item that I really enjoy eating right now. I have a hard time justifying the expense more than twice a week though. So, I treated myself tonight, while the rest of the family had California Pizza Co. frozen pizza. That makes me a bit less gloomy.

I am pretty flippin' sick of it. I am starving and yet don't feel like eating a lot. And I feel like I am having to eat constantly to feel just slightly normal. I eat only tiny meals and snack all day when I can stomach it.

Right there with you Alisha! I have a super fast metabolism (don't hate me for that, trust me its not that much fun) and need to eat often normally, but when I am preggo, watch out! And I am not a food lover, its more of an aggravation to me to have to eat all the time (my Italian food loving hubby hates me), and I feel like I am always starving when I am preggo but nothing sounds good. I find one thing that sounds ok, eat it after debating for like an hour, then start stressing about what I am going to have to eat next. So yes, I think its normal (has happened to me in all my pregnancies) and it does pass. And yes, I too find that take out and things that I don't normally treat myself too feel more appealing. And I'm ten weeks and one day today, and am starting to feel a little better.
