Well Baby Rian did arrive on the Easter weekend. He was born Easter Monday at 1:51am. He is 7lbs 10 oz and 21inces long.


Unfortuntally nothing went as I planned.Baby Rian is in the NICU. His surgars are not stabalizing. He was on 2 ivs pumping surgars in. This morning they removed one and his surgars are going down again. So he is unstable.I am not even allowed to hold him or tuch him through the holes of the incubator. I am so sad. I cant stop crying. I dont want to be home without him,it was one of the hardest thing leaving him there. The hosiptal is NOT bf friendly at all.....and not mw friendly. They are very blaming. I will try to update when I can. I will post a birth story when I can.

Congrats! So sorry to hear that things are not going well, I hope your lil' one is able to join you at home very, very soon.

Oh Tamara, I am so sorry that Rian isn't home with you. Congratulations on his birth! All my love and best wishes for him to come home to you and the family as soon as possible.

Let us know how he's doing. Make sure to take care of yourself too. There is a NICU message board under the life with a newborn board that you might find helpful. Hugs out to you.

Thanks mamas. No real new updates today,his levels are still low,but they did let me hold hom for over an hour where he was so content and slept so peacefully.

Thurs. morning update:

Well last night his levels dropped again so they have up the sugar meds in his iv to another high dose. They have also put the feeding tube back in so and limited his feedings so he doesnt burn much more sugars.

It getting real hard. He sould have stabalized by now. My midwife is wondering if there is something else going on...like infection,maybe his panceras(sp) didnt develop right,or a metabolic(sp)problem.

I am going to try to speak to the Dr's today to find out what else they are planning to do now.
