sad news

Hi everybody,

A friend just told me about this:

http://www.sunnewspapers.net/article...D=14684&bnpg=0

She goes to the same church and wants to provide meals for this family. She's hoping to get 16 people together to each make a meal once a month, aiming for six months. We are doing it, and so is our babysitter. Does anybody else want to help?

M - We are available Sunday and the 14th/15th as well. For us, Sundays would generally work better than Saturdays. We'll be glad to get together... a potluck sounds perfect.

How sad, I'd love to help. Poor family

We are free this Sunday as well!

I hope to go to downtown PG again this year for trick or treating. We've gone the past 3 years. Since Halloween is on a Sat this year I am not sure what time it starts up.

It looks like everyone is free this weekend- so lets plan for Sunday then

Thanks for posting the article, AIEA... how sad Maybe we can all bring an item ("Donations of food, baby items, gift cards and children's clothes also are requested") to the potluck and and one of us can bring everything to the church to donate (I can do it, I just need to find out where the church is).
I would bet they could use formula and coupons for formula too. I have a bunch that we won't use.

That's a good idea D

Sounds good! I'm happy that everyone can make it! What kind of food is everyone making? I'm not sure what to make.

Does anyone know what kind of kids clothe's that family needs? I have clothes from NB up to 5T.

I bet a Publix or walmart gift card would be great for the family. I decluttered and gave away outgrown clothes when I was pregnant so I have nothing like that to give.

M- What time on Sunday? I was thinking of making arroz con pollo and something sweet. I am eating more now than I did when I was pregnant.

Hmm.... how's 1pm? A late lunch? The weather shows high of 87 and isolated showers I'm hoping for a nice day so we can use the lanai and the kids can play outside.

Mmmm that sounds yummy G. And you're burning way more calories now so you should be hungry! I'll probably make a mac n cheese and I'm going to attempt to make pumpkin cookies. I'll get juice boxes and Soda. Does anyone have extra paper plates or disposable cups leftover from a party laying around?

I have plastic cups and some bowls I can bring. My dh will join us a bit later when he gets out of work. I hope the weather is great!

G- You want to start a little later so C doesn't miss that much? Maybe 2pm? That should still be enough time .
Any time works for us. Want me to pick up paper plates? I have to go to Publix this weekend to do grocery shopping anyway.
2pm is good, thanks M!

I have some plates and cups left over from the kids' party. I'll bring those!
I'm not sure what to make... I'll make something with chicken though, and something for dessert too
2pm is fine!

D and G- I'll do chips and dip and snacks if you guys are doing desserts. That will be easier for me since I'll be out all day Sat I have to clean Sat night and bake Sunday am. Just let me know if you decide not to so I can get something together

D and J- will A and C be home to come?

G what time will C get here? We'll let the kids play for a while and try to eat closer to when he comes.

Hi Guys,

D - That's a great idea. I will bring whatever stuff I can get together. I know I have clothes & formula samples. I do not know the church name but I'll see my friend Tuesday and can drop everything with her.

I know the kids in the family are newborn, 18 months, 5 years, 12 years, and maybe 19 years? And some older ones. Total of 8 kids, 5 are at home.

For the potluck I'll make something side-dish-like (or maybe two different "somethings") for variety.

See you Sunday!

I still don't know what to make but I'll figure something out and let you all know. A will be with his dad so he won't make it.
