Hi everyone! I know I didn't post too often on this board, but I wanted to share that our beautiful baby girl was born last week. Meah Ruth arrived via scheduled c-section on April 4th at 3pm! She surprised us by being a lot smaller than expected, weighing in at just 6lbs 10oz and 20 inches long. We had an absolutely PERFECT experience with our c-section and were surrounded by loving and caring family, friends and medical staff. I felt so wonderfully cared for. Meah came out screaming and she had latched on successfully within an hour of her birth! Breastfeeding is going fairly well, though I do have flat nipples so I have been leaning on a nipple shield for help. Meah definitely likes the nipple shield so we will be slowly weaning her off that as my engorgement goes away and she can actually latch on to me alone. We came home on Saturday morning and have been settling in well. Meah is a very good baby. She sleeps a lot and I usually have to wake her to eat. She is gaining weight, though, so that has been reassuring to my anxious mind. She was a tiny bit jaundiced but has not required any light therapy and I can tell by her skin color that it's on it's way out.
