I'd been having brown discharge off and on since last Friday. Since my loss at the end of November, anything out of the ordinary makes me very nervous.
So after another gush of brown discharge this AM, I called my FP’s office and they got me in. Dr. L said we’d first listen for the heartbeat and then he wanted to do a pelvic exam to see if he could see what was causing the discharge (infection, etc.)
We heard the heartbeat right away!!!
I was so elated. 
He then did the pelvic exam. He said that it’s very watery discharge (which I knew) and that there was no sign of infection and he didn’t think it was old blood, either. He said it looked to him like it’s just discharge that’s pooling (which explains why it seems to only happen first thing in the AM after I get up or at night after laying on the couch before bed).
So all is well and I am so very relieved. Like I said, I really felt everything was fine but wanted to get it checked out for sure.
My “first OB” is scheduled for May 9th, but we went ahead and did all the blood work and pap test today. So glad that’s out of the way!
