Just checked my e-mail and she's 4.5 cm and 100% effaced!!! Let's all send her happy birthing vibes!
I'll post updates as I receive them.

He's born!!

Here's the e-mail I received from her:

"We did it! From 4.5 dilated to baby was 6 1/2 hours. I was totally brave about it until 4:30 am when things started getting really tough and I started complaining but I didn't yell or swear or anything. I thought labour pains would be like menstrual pains but they are in a completly different place and a completly way. The placenta didn't want to come out and when I finally birthed it, it hurt WAY more than the baby did. My tummy's making noises when shinking and after pains are just as bad as active labour. I sure don't regret it though! This perfect little sweetheart was totally worth it. He's sleeping on my chest right now. He was born less than six hours after his great grandpa died. His nursing pretty good, altough I have questions for when the midwives come back tonight.
We'll confirm the name in 3ish days.

20 inches
7:28 am
born at home wih mama and papa and kitties and pup and 2 midwives in attendance
bad news is that the camera broke so we have no pix of anything!
oh yeah..ON the due date!"

I'm so happy for her and her family. Congrats hanno!!!!!

Oh he's beautiful! Congratulations- how sad that he was born just after his grandpa died, but how beautiful how the life cycle continues as well...
