Met Midwife Today...

She seems wonderful and she's very sure of herself and her track record. There are a few midwives working together and they don't have a very large transfer rate.

She's not worried about my possibly having a big baby or shoulder dystocia and she doesn't push ultrasounds unless I want one. I think I will want one, but perhaps not *shrug*.

She seems like she's sure of her philosophies BUT she's supportive if we want something else. I like that.

Sounds great! I'm glad the appointment went well Are your other kids excited for a HB?

We haven't really filled them in too much on the homebirth yet. I believe they will be here, and I know I've mentioned it, but they'll need more info as we go along.

My mother's been here 3 out of the 7 weeks I have been preggers (just left) and I didn't want to talk about it with her around. She's totally against it and wouldn't hesitate to say something unless I specifically warn her NOT to say anything negative to the kids so she can have time to buckle down.

I hear you on the negativity. My ILs were pretty negative on our HB last time around...my parents were worried but figured I did the research so it must be okay. Luckily nobody said a lot about it, but there was an air of disapproval that hung over us the whole pg.

We bought Welcome with Love for my son last time I was pg (m/c in Nov) and he loves it! But, like you, I'm not sure what we'll be doing as far as childcare.

Gotta go! More later.
