What does "Banned" mean

I know I am going to feel foolish for this question, but here it goes.

What does banned mean and how do you get banned? I am fairly new here and have been off for awhile...I had a private message from someone and under their username it says banned.????:

In most cases, banned means that the members privileges to our boards were removed and they have been banned.

However, if you see something silly like "banned for being silly" then it likely came from April Fools day when the Administrators went a bit nuts and 'fake' banned several members (all in good fun).

Does that answer your question?

I'm so glad someone asked this!! I've been so curious as to the senior member titles that say, "Banned for talking to banned members" etc.

Those of us who are still banned had begged to stay "banned" because we felt a little special. I had no senior title before and I really really like mine now!

Abimommy lost track of all the members she banned, so we asked in TAO Were you Banned yesterday for April 1st If you'd like it changed back, we can do that

I think it's a riot that so many wanted to keep their banned titles.

It beats the senior title I had which was the boring "senior member". I think this was MDC's best April Fool's evah!
