Label your boxes well. Be as detailed as you can.

My biggest unpacking advice.... unpack your kitchen first thing. Even if you are tired it will feel like a big accomplishment and you can get back to eatting like "normal" however that is. Also, break down boxes as soon as they are empty and get them out of the way.

We normally unpack in 3 days maximum. My hubby is an unpacking freak! Typically I do most of the packing and he does the unpacking.

It's going to be a snap since you have two weeks - that's a lot of time. Just start with the things you don't use on a daily basis. Books, decorations, etc. Find one area to put the boxes in that is out of the way so you don't feel so cluttered. By the end of the first week, you should be down to bare bones, like just the things you need on a daily basis.

And label really specific - I did what room the box was going to and what was in it, like "Office - Eric's Textbooks." That way when you move in, you can dump the right boxes in the right rooms, and know what to open first ("Master Bath - Toilet Paper") vs. what can wait a month or so ("Living Room - DVDs").

We always unpacked kitchen, (master) bath, and bedroom first. That really makes it feel like a home, even when there are tons of boxes hanging out.

Good luck!!

I had 3 weeks to do it and it was not a snap. I was only able to sort through a fraction of my stuff. The rest I had to temporarily store at my mother's house until I could sort it. I wish I knew the secret of fast packing.

As you pack up stuff, keep "donate" containers available so you don't move with stuff you don't actually need. And don't try to sell anything- just give away what you don't need and get it out of the way!

The first thing to pack up is out of season clothing, collections of DVDs/CDs, books, knick-knacks- anything you don't need for daily use. Just be sure to keep at least one jacket available per family member in case it suddenly gets cold.

When I moved I kept a journal. Every box had a number written on it and what room of the house it was going in. In the journal I would list everything I put in that box. If I had a digital camera then I probably would have snapped a photo of the box contents to tape in the journal as well.

When we went to unpack I knew what box everything was in. My mom came out the next day and helped me unpack the kitchen. That is the room to do first as it has all those little gadgets and whatnot.
