where to buy borax, fels naptha, wash soda

I'd like to make laundry soap. WHERE can I find Borax, Fels Naptha soap and washing soda? I'd like NOT to buy online, if possible.

I can buy fels naptha at just about every grocery store near me (even walmart)

if you can't find those things at the grocery store, try a locally owned hardware store.

My grocery store (locally owned chain) sells all of them too. They are all in the laundry aisle, kind of near the oxi-clean, stain removers, etc.

Ditto trying a grocery store first. I've had good luck with the Pick 'n Save chain.

I also can buy most of those items at our locally owned True Value hardware store as well (and it's within walking distance!).

Sometimes you can get Fels Naptha in a pharmacy section of you grocery store, or at a local pharmacy since it is good at drying out poison ivy they often have it in those sections as well.

i feel for you mama--I cannot get fels naptha anywhere; even walmart. i live in Canada, and we have nothing. nothing.

I wonder if a farm store (think Agway sort of place) might carry some of those? That's where I get our laundry baking soda, which has a use for cattle too.

It would help to know where you are located. Where I am, the only place I've found washing soda is at a chain grocery store, "Stop-n'-Shop". The borax was easier to find, local chain stores and an organic market. If you are in NY/NJ I could give you specifics.

I got mine at an Ace Hardware (I think that is a national chain... isn't it?) and they had everything I needed.

Well There is a Arm&Hammer Co that you can call which is 18005241328 to ask where they sell the washing soda and borax locally or you can allways go to a local pool shop and look for Sodium Carbonate wish is the same as washing soda
There is also a place that sells all three items called Soaps Gone By and the #is 1888858SOAP

I know the Fred Meyer in Anchorage has both Borax and Washing Soda. Not sure about Fels Naptha, and I'm not sure if all Fred Meyer stores have them.

Whoops; edited to say that it's the Fred Meyer in EAGLE RIVER, not the Anchorage one.

But if one has them, it's worth a shot to try at another.

If you are in Canada, you should probably try Canadian Tire. I'm guessing that "Fels Naptha" is probably a brand name that isn't carried in Canada. I don't have any though, or I'd read the fine print to try to figure it out for you.
