Sperm!

I posted this on the TTC board and thought I should post here too.

The decision...
My partner and I have had two wonderful girls from an anonymous donor at the sperm bank of california (TSBC). We still own one IUI-ready vial of our donor but feel that our likelihood of ever using the vial is slim and the storage fees are too high to hang onto it.

I know it's a weird thing, but we'd like to give (for free) the sperm to another person or couple who would like it. TSBC has said they can't arrange it (no other couples have conceived from this donor, this is the only vial left in existence and they won't list a donor with only one vial), but that we can arrange it ourselves.

The question...
I know this isn't freecycle, but I can't think of a better venue to ask this question: Are you TTC and interested in a free vial of sperm? Do you know anyone who might be?

I'm happy to provide more details about the donor (Jewish/Eastern-Eur.) and you can get the whole health history and information file from TSBC. Send me a PM and we can talk if you're interested.

It's a bit pricey, but on donor sibling registry they have a way for people to post if they have extra vials of a certain donor. That might be an option if no one contacts you.

I actually do know someone who is TTC and in need of a donor right now. She's not a lesbian, though. I'm not sure if that matters to you or not. She's a single mother and prefers neither sex. Both of her other babies were born using a known donor's sperm, but that donor has since passed away due to a car accident. She's having a lot of trouble finding another known donor, and has been considering sperm banks.

However, we're in Canada and I have no idea how one might ship frozen sperm from one country to another, nor do I even know if it is legal to take across borders and what not. I guess that might be worth looking in to.
