Stupid Nor'easter keeping me awake

Darn that Mother Nature!

I was sleeping peacefully, when, BAM! This Rubbermaid-type cabinet we keep on the front porch all winter to hide the snow shovel in gets blown over by the howling winds and the bang wakes me up. I just MUST go make sure that's what it was, although that's ALWAYS what it is when we have a Nor'easter. Yup. That's what it was. No point picking up the cabinet until morning when the winds are back below 30 mph.

I tried to go back to sleep. Couldn't relax. (DH is away, can't even cuddle.) DS is asleep in my bed (no baby monitor in there, and no side rails on that high bed) so I just ran downstairs to grab a snack (silly tummy!) and to post a grump and then I'll have to either go read in DS's bed or just sit in my bed being tired, unable to sleep, and grumpy.

So there.

Hope everyone else is sleeping peacefully out there...

The wind is incredible. I woke up this morning and was surprised that we still have power. And it's supposed to rain all week? Icky. Time to sit in front of the sun lamp and chase the gray weather blues away.

Yuck, Nor'easters are no fun. I used to live up in MA and lived through many Nor'easters. The day DS was born we got a killer Nor'easter and ended up with 27" of snow! I hope the bad weather ends soon and spring comes.

We've got about 5 inches of snow and it's still coming down...we have power but no Sat TV. Which means a day home from work (my mom can't get in from the farm to watch dd, and all the local schools/child centers are closed due to the storm) with a hyper toddler and NO "adult background noise" or Sesame Street.

I'm not a TV junkie but on days when I'm home with dd it's nice to have some DIY or cooking shows playing in the background.... and a whole hour of Sesame Street is almost enough for me to recharge!

let's look on the bright side though,: at least it's not snow!! the last thing my dh wanted to do was throw his plow back on!oh and the rain is melting what little snow we had, yay!!

Yesterday we had the rain...today (and they're telling us for the next few days) it's snow. Ugh. In mid-April! My winter coat barely zips over my belly and I keep saying "it's okay, the weather is getting warmer". If this keeps up I don't know what I'll do

I was just going to post something about coats myself.

My mom got me a nice, mid-weight coat with a two-way zipper for Christmas. It is only JUST getting too tight to zip up (and I have to zip it up before I can unzip the bottom to mid-belly.) I've been meaning to call and thank her again, because the timing has worked out pretty well here.

As a person who enjoys watching "What Not to Wear", I have to admit that it seems obvious that I'm doing what they always call women on and wearing clothes that "don't fit me" in normal life, because I still have coats that will zip over my enormous belly. Remember, I'm up 29 pounds as of my 30 week appointment today!

i hear y'all re: coats. i am down to ponytail holders over the buttons of my pea coat. i thought winter was over, but no....i will not fit into anything much longer. i'm so anxious for spring. sigh...

i felt like i was in some weird environmental "the end of the world as we know it" film last night as a thunderstorm raged in nyc at 11pm. very weird.

and can any of you believe that folks RAN the boston marathon in this weather today? having run 3 marathons, i can honestly say i would have passed if that was the weather for my race. what rock stars.
