Mercury danger with CFL's?

I just read this http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=55213 article about CFL bulbs. It basically talks about how the bulbs have mercury in them and that they are very hard to dispose of. Also if one breaks in your home, how hard it is to clean up the mercury contamination.

Has anyone heard about this problem? We've been replacing our bulbs slowly, but this worries me. My friend just had mercury contamination at her home from a thermometer and the EPA had to come and it was a huge problem. Does anyone know more about this?

Thanks

Uh....I had never heard of this?! In fact, I had one break for the first time a month or two ago. I bought the bulbs at Ikea 3 years ago so the packages were long gone. I was putting the lamp together in my new sewing room, and was struggling with the stupid paper Ikea lamp when I dropped the light fixture and the bulb broke. I just swept it up and threw it out like I would a normal light bulb. : Is this, uh, really really bad? I honestly had no idea they contained mercury.

I heard about the mercury thing on the radio a few weeks ago. There always seems to be a down side to every good thing.
