It's mid April who is still pregnant? - Page 2

practicing patience

EDD Friday and I'm trying to keep in mind the birth will probably be next week and not this one (first was a week late). So, this is "survival week" where anything goes to maintain sanity and distraction from thinking about when it will happen. I was having prodromal labor for a couple weekends in a row, but now there is nothing, just feeling big, uncomfortable, and moody.

I just had a hot fudge sundae, and damn, was it good. I'm thinking of not making any dinner, too. Watch out - mama is misbehaving!

I heard on of the midwives say that one of the grossest things about being a midwife were people's feet! Good job!

I would think that the mom having a BM on the bed would be the grossest thing...maybe that's just me, though.

...at my first prenatal my MW said that women feel most uncomfortable about the posibility of doing that - but that you may not be able to push if you don't allow it....so watch out MW!!!! I'm doing whatever I have to to get my baby out!!!!

...a pedicure does sound great.....

I'm still here, but I have 14 days til EDD. We still have to install the carseat and get it checked.. we were going to trade in my car (I have a 2 door and DH has a pickup) but it has proven to be really problematic, so we're just going to put the seat in my 2 door for now. Bleh.

But I feel like once that's done, we'll be ready to go! I am not dilated or effaced or anything yet, but I do still have 2 weeks left. I'm feeling great physically so not in any hurry, except that I want to snuggle my little babe so badly, and see what he looks like...

Good luck to all of us Mamas!

Still here. I'm due at the end of the month, and I've never gone early, so I expect I've still got at least a week. I'm completely ready (emotionally speaking) to have this baby out. I'm just really tired of being pregnant; I want to tie my shoes, bend over, not have a backache, lose some weight, etc. Just really tired of feeling like a beached whale!

I finally got all the baby things down, washed, sorted, etc. I got the infant carseat up from the basement. I've got some little bitty diapers ready. My birth supplies are all in order. I've got a few things in the freezer. The only thing left to do, really, is install the carseat. I'm waiting for another mat to put under the seat before I do that, though. That will hopefully be here in the next day or so.

Dh and I are having an adult date (meaning, no kids allowed!) tomorrow night, which will be nice, since we haven't been able to do that in awhile. I'm really looking forward to that. Other than that, I don't have anything planned to pass the time.

Our carseat installation did not go too well, so my little guy can wait a few more days...we did get one in - but had to basically throw the other one out along with everything the babies r us guy told us to buy to make it fit right : but hopefully on Friday if our little one has not shown up yet I can go back and get some store credit at least - SOOO FRUSTRATED!!!! We do have one safe and operational one though...we just wanted one for each car...I guess we will just get a second base for the one we have - and hope it fits in our other car...

So complicated - I thought I knew alot about carseats etc - but I don't know anything!!! : at least we went to have them checked!!!

Does anyone else think it is CRAZY that the infant seats are made to flip towards the seat back to "absorb impact"??? It looks so scary to me!!!

What went wrong with your installation? And yes I did know that the carseat flips up to hit the backseat. The carseat tech told me about because he thought I should get rid of my mirror that lets me see the baby.

I was so bummed that there doesn't seem to be a way to use the Versa-Tether for my Britax Blvd, while RFing, in my car. There's NOTHING on the floor to attach it to, even with the D hook thingie and strap... SIGH.

I've been stressin' about the car seat thing, since NO one is available for weeks to check our seats. I'm terrified we're going to end up having to buy some other seat b/c the tech will say this one doesn't work in our car, which is why I've been TRYING to get it checked for weeks now, before I cut off the tags and threw out the HUGE box (this is completely irrational fear as DH and I have it installed rock solid per all the guides and checked for everything CPS techs suggested to check here as well!) I'm just a paranoid preggo.

I thinbk we should all get pedicures and then post back here with pics.

That's a great idea!

I'm still here and I'm starting to get crabby. I'm 42 weeks today. I'm starting to get really uncomfortable. The baby was LOA and is now ROA and is beating me up in new and interesting places. Whenever I go out, people act like I should be in bed. People keep asking why I'm not being induced. And I've stopped answering the phone because the relatives are really starting to tick me off.

Still here but only for a few more days..I go in at 7 am Saturday morning for my section. I am very ready for this to be over. I am having lots of painful contractions but no change in my cervix. I am also not able to sleep but not really sure why...This is the largest I have ever been out of 4 pregnancies so I am waiting to see if this will be my biggest baby yet. After all this pain she better be over 8 lbs ( I have little babies)

I'm seriously thinking about getting that pedi today, but I'm upset b/c my feet are on the more swollen side, lol. And the fact that I've only been able to wear my psuedo-Birks means they've gotten the most dry and icky they've been in a while. But heck, it's pretty obvious I can't reach my feet to care for them, right? That's why I need the pedi! It's THEIR job to make them look great

A few days past my EDD, nothing has been happening, but Iam sure that something will, just when At least all the moms that we have that were due before me have gone, makes things easier for me. The only thing is we have one due at the end of the month and I dont want to be extremly over due if she desides to go sometime in the next two weeks. Baby its time, the womb is getting smaller every day

So far today I've avoided two phone calls and one email from people wanting to know where the baby is. Why do people do this? It's not like this is our first. It's not like we've EVER had a baby and just not told people about it.

LOL... I know what you mean. I am still internally patient... but it really bugs me all of these people calling and my due date is still a week away. Makes me want to change my answering machine message ahead of time...

Yes, Amy had the baby. If you haven't already received a call from us, we unfortunately just don't love you that much. Sorry you had to find out about it this way.

My EDD was yesterday, April 16th. I'm still here with my baby tucked snugly in my giant belly. Oh well....guess he/she is not done cooking yet.
