That's a good idea...maybe it would teach them to leave you alone until you're ready! This baby knows whenever it comes is the perfect time...Internally patient...that's a good way to put it Amy.

I too avoid people and phone calls. I left the house yesterday only to go to prenatal yoga (maybe my last??). I think it's very common and good for the mother to go into a kind of protective shell in the last days/weeks. I just really don't want to hear what other people--mostly strangers, but some family and friends too--have to say right now...and I especially don't feel like showing my belly to my MIL right now.

My midwives think new moons have more of an effect than full moons. What's that? A twinge in my lower back?? Sigh...nothing new...

It's no pedicure, but I did go to the chiro today. I'm lucky, she's very affirming and has me at peace

One of our seats did not fit with our car, luckly the other one did - so we will probably just get a second base. The salesman at Babies R Us had me buy all this stuff to make the other one fit and none of it worked! Luckly they took it back and put all the money back on my credit card even though I had no receipts or packaging or anything (I was really persistant though b/c the store is over an hour away). now I have an extra stroller too b/c it was travel system - I guess I will start loading up my mom's house!

: I nearly went crazy at work today - as far as all the coments - "you haven't had that baby yet!?" etc...by boss is great though, he basically told them to shut up b/c I still have over a week before my EDD!!!!!! GRR!!! People are funny - and women at that!! Don't they remember being pregnant!?

Oh..one more thing 3 posts in a row, oh well. When I was at babies r us today the carseat supervisor guy asked me if my baby's head fit in the headrest I had baught for the carseat....now how in the world did he not realize I'm almost 39wks pregnant!? I know I'm not all baby weight - but I am not huge and definately have a nice big bump in front!!!

I went to the chiropractor this morning, but my back still hurts. Went to the PO, 2 banks, then got my mani/pedi. The woman doing it was so nice. My feet weren't *too* bad, but they needed help.

Took my ds to the orthodontist, skipped my waxing appointment, then tonight dh and I went to Target for a new hose. Almost forgot about that.

Do it! And report back the transcripts from people who leave messages. We need entertainment!

I went to my weekly dr appointment yesterday and saw a student dr first... I waddle in (I'm really huge now, all belly) and the student says "so, what are you here for today?" I think that she has a little more to learn in med school still! If it's not obvious now that I'm ready to have a baby then I don't know when it will be!

*snort*

So, assuming Babymort doesn't decide to make an appearance today, my husband is coming home after his staff meeting and I'm taking my daughter out to lunch and to get her hair cut. I've managed one-on-one time with both boys, but didn't grab any with her yet. So, that's good I guess.

It's the holding pattern that's hardest. We didn't plan any school beyond bare bones basics for this week, so she's just sort of floating around the house (which thrills her!), and there's all this stuff that's on the schedule, and we just don't know if we can do it or not. Kids are not very good with "maybe"s, at least not mine.

I took Katie Grace to ballet yesterday and the other mamas looked shocked that (a) I was out and (b) I wasn't on a table being induced. One asked when they were going to "take" the baby. :

SIGH that sucks, AM.

Everyone keeps asking me if I'm getting anxious. I'm trying very hard to discern if they mean excited/ready or worried, b/c I've noticed most people don't know the right way to use the word anxious... they use it like "I just can't wait!" So I try to give them the benefit of the doubt... but seriously, why ask someone that?? Of COURSE I'm getting excited, but why ask someone who's about to do something big, "Are you getting all worried?"

We have rats or mice in our garage, finally a confirmed sighting last night, so now I get to go to home depot to find some kind rat trap... and Costco, to stock up on contact solution and other stuff we don't want to run out of when we're babymooning. FUN. Baby, come right now so I can get out of these errands and make DH go,

I saw my acupuncturist on Monday morning to be "induced." She told me that it has worked in 14 of the 15 times she did it, all within 48 hours. Well, 48 hours have come and gone and still not one labor pain. Sure, I have to be another one of her statistics of folks that it didn't work on.

When you expect it to happen and it doesn't, you go through some SERIOUS depression. I've been bawling my eyes out for two days. I had no idea how much I was counting on it to work. DH doesn't understand this funk I'm in...I guess I shouldn't expect sympathy from a man.

I had an appointment scheduled. When I was reveiwing pregnancy stats with the acupuncturist he asked how far or if I was dilated. When I said nope he said he didn't want to see me until I was dilated to at least 3 with no progress, he said before then it really isn't going to help much. UGH!

On the bright side I had a wonderful mani/pedi last night...I love pedicures...my feet feel so good!

Dh and I had a date last night. We went for Indian food and a walk around town. I finally picked up a baby book at the bookstore, too.

By the time we got home (45 min. drive), I was having some pretty good ctx., and a killer backache. Took me forever to get to sleep, and then I didn't sleep well.

Not much is happening today, though, so I suppose it's just more BH stuff. I'm off to take a nap here very soon, so I can make it through the rest of the day.

In the interest of keeping busy, I went to Costco today to get raw almonds that I have a FABU recipe for. I picked up a few other things as well. When I got to the register, the chick says "How much longer?" I said "A few days, maybe a week or so." She says "Oh boy! I DO NOT envy you! That is the worst part." I said "Really? That's too bad. I am enjoying every minute of being pregnant. It is such a cool thing, to have my baby inside." She sort of stammered and didn't really know what to say, then said "Well, I was having twins." Okay, I am sure that had a lot of other challenges than a singleton. But I am still enjoying where I am at.

Today is my "due date." I've been fielding calls all day, telling people that I'm still pregnant, I am showing no signs of labor, etc. I feel oddly apologetic about it, like it was somehow my duty to go into labor promptly!
My doula has me taking drops of black cohosh and blue cohosh and I have to say, this stuff is DISGUSTING. Eeew. Why can't tinctures taste like chocolate?
