I've always loved RRL tea...it's great for cramps and general ick feelings too, but I actually like the taste. Then again, I've never noticed an "off" smell/taste to valerian, and most people think valerian stinks worse than old socks! So I'm not a good judge of flavor I guess.

Earth Day here has been sunny and warm. Of course, it was snowing just a week ago so I'm afraid of saying (again) that Spring has sprung. But maybe it's srung a little bit? I really REALLY want to go to Lowes or the Home Despot and get some flowers for the hanging baskets and back deck. And I discovered today that my two rose bushes didn't make it through the bizarre winter weather (the roots seem to have melted away?). So I'd like to get some new roses and move them to a different part of our back yard. It's a teeny tiny back yard (about 12 feet deep and the width of the house) but I think my nesting urges have moved outside with the warm weather.

And DH is upstairs right now finishing the ceiling in what will be the new family bdroom. We're using that anaglypta/paintable wallpaper stuff on the ceiling so it looks like tin. It's pretty neat.

I almost did tin for my kitchen ceiling, but since we are trying to keep the original crown molding, it would've meant too much extra work. American Tin Ceiling Co. (americantinceilings.com) had pretty good prices, and they have a product you can screw directly to drywall that doesn't require furring strips...

I did buy two of their panels to use as a wall covering behind our new direct vent gas stove, so I can vouch directly for their quality.

Sorry if that's too far off topic for everyone else! Tin ceilings are SOOO cool, though. They have this burgundy color tin panel that, honestly, is so gorgeous I want to design a room around it!

I thought I'd be less tired this afternoon since I slept so much better last night. Nope. I'm exhausted. (And I really didn't clean out that much of the garage, no matter what DH says!)

Hey there, ladies! I've been skimming threads here and there but haven't had the time to post. But now all the end of term grades are in, and all I have to worry about is helping the profs clean up the studio and do some prep for a career fair our department is setting up a booth at.

I've been really lethargic lately - the weather here sucked until a couple of days ago, and I've been having crazy hip/sciatic/cervical pain; I pretty much spent the whole weekend on the couch! I'm really restless psychologically, but when I get up to go for a walk, and Bean rams her head into my cervix with every step I take, I remember why sitting is better!

Everything is checking out well; Bean's growth is on target, even though I haven't gained any weight this month. between the heartburn and the food aversions food is just too much effort, y'know? DH has been a godsend though, and made a shopping trip yesterday to stock the fridge with all my favourite temptations to get me to eat.

I've started throwing things towards my 'hospital bag' pile, but haven't really packed it yet. It feels like packing it would be admitting how close we are! I'm not ready yet!

I wish I was getting some of the 'you're so big' comments - I keep getting told that I can't possibly be seven months along 'cause I'm too small. : Way to make a mama paranoid! My doctor says that I'm actually measuring 2 cm ahead in my fundal height, so it's just got to be the way I'm carrying - really low and kind of compact. Bean's measured a few days bigger than her dates all the way along and my family makes chunky babies (close to 9 lbs), so I don't even get to enjoy the thought of smaller belly = smaller baby = easier labour, either!

This morning, I'm just waiting to see if any more construction will happen today. I think we are now waiting for the countertop template to be made (scheduled for Wednesday AM) and the electrician (no idea when he's coming.) The owner of the company is back from his vacation today, so I expect a phone call, but I don't know that he would make time to come over and check it out... ??? I'm pretty sure my anxiety will notch up for every day that I don't see progress!

We finally turned the corner on the remodle of our masterbath- we put in the new bathtub last night, so by next weekend we should be painting and putting down the new flooring.

I can't believe how very tired I am! I had a plan to do tons of sewing today, and though I did some of it, I seem to have pettered out.
