Although I've written tons of letters and prose to our almost three-year-old, this is the first poem. Yesterday (the 16th) was my due date for #2, so perhaps the flow of creativity is at a high:
Night night
In the dim
blue light
of your room
there is nothing like
"see you in the morngan, Mommy"
"sleep tight"
and
feeling your tiny lips on my forehead
You mend the holes in my heart
of impatience
fatigue
despair
reminding me of the joy
of watching you grow
readying me for tomorrow
Rebecca
mama to Jackson, and baby due any time now!

I love it! My children mend MANY holes in my heart!
