Wow! Tracy, you're amazing! And the maps by the mamas on here- WOW!
So, I only recently came to this forum and found this thread on- guess what? April 17th!
I decided to make a map and I finished it last night.
I really need some thoughts/advice from you manifesters
I started a new job last month, which I thought was perfect for me. The reason why is because I studied the organization for many years, and I volunteered for the them. After one month of volunteering, the head told me she had created a position for me, with great hours and some flextime, which is important because I'm a single mom. This job is aligned with my destiny, and I was thrilled to be amongst a group of people whose work I studied as a teenager! I know one can have a certain interest and not be at the RIGHT place for that. For example, I took a related job a few years ago and it was apparent right away that, even though it was in my area, it was not the right place. But, with this one, since it came to me through volunteering, and rather effortlessly, I thought it was meant to be. However, since I arrived, things have not been well. I love the work but my boss, who was great when I volunteered, doesn't seem to like me much at all. She seems very intimidated by me, and I feel that there is some racial tension here. This last point really frustrates me, considering she knew I was a person of color when she created the position for me.
OK, so I placed my business card on the "Work" sector of my map. I've read through the entire thread here and someone said you may get the job you asked for, but you may be miserable, so it's best to ask for what's best for you and not say anything specific. But, I never "asked" for this job. It just fell into my lap! So, now that I'm here, I'm trying to make things better. I didn't mention anything about changing anyone else's behavior, but I placed my card there and wrote affirmations about it being a peaceful work environment and that I and the org are successful in our goals.
Do you think this is appropriate? What is your take on the situation, based on the limited info you have?
