The Official 2007 Treasure Map! - Page 5

My map seems to be very general (as in nothing I specifically desire apart from a new car), is this ok? I'm drawn to opening spiritually, practicing yoga and meditating more and enjoying my family so all my quotes and images are similar.

5yr old ds is sat here with me cutting pics out of mags and choosing quotes : , the energy in our home if flowing

Is anyone else feeling the circle shape this year? I made my map a circle, which was a first for me.

I forget who asked, but I just applied the bagua to the circle. There is another one, specifically for a circle, but I didn't have it with me last night at my girlfriends house.

I was really feeling just blah yesterday. After planning an excursion into the city to meet up with some girlfriends I almost canceled my trip just 3 hours before it started. My husband and my friend motivated me, but I really didn't want to go. I am glad i did. It was fun.

Can I cut words out of my old magazines? I have some specific words I want on my TM but none are in my new mags

I.
Yes I envisioned drawing a large circle or smaller circles connected somehow in the Feng Shui grid. Interesting.

We bought our magazines yesterday. I'm never sure if I should take the kids with me or not, but they make their own maps and Ron was working last night so I didn't even have a choice. I chose English Country Home or something like that, Ben chose a bunny magazine and Ellie chose The Show Circuit magazine about riding and showing horses! We live in the suburbs but her biggest dream is to own a horse and ride him competitively. It was probably the most expensive magazine on the stand, but I tried not to be negative I need another actually because there aren't enough garden or nature pictures in mine.

greenegirl, I think I'd put the mattress in your health and/ or home sections. Maybe include an affirmation on sleeping well and feeling rested?

I'm not sure. I am thinking about using some garden pictures from mags that came in the last week or so. I'm trying to stick to new ones, but it's hard. How about writing the words?

Finished cutting & almost done arranging, but had to post this because I was really excited.

I kept finding pictures of hummingbird & felt really drawn to them. I ended up with 9 hummingbirds & felt to put one in each area. It was not a typical symbol that I am drawn to so I looked it up in one of my dream dictionaries & here is what I found:

"Tasting the sweet nectar of life. Endurance. Also, based on the way that hummingbirds can hover in one place, a dream about a hummingbird can mean you're actually making progress even when it seems you're stuck - or that you're in a natural lull or rest period, and you'll begin making progress soon."

(bolded area my emphasis) WOW!! Anyone else find them drawn to anything interesting & unexpected?

Yes.

you can cut out sentances, captions, headline, bylines.. whatever speaks to you. And of course you can write your own affirmations.

I am moving much slower this year. There is so much going on right now in my life that is NOT Treasure Map related that being able to build it quickly is just not an option... interesting to me, I think the universe is making me really take my time and be measured about what I want.

by the way---is it me, or is Sara Jessica Parker and her hair color ad in every magazine?

chiming in to say thanks for all the helpful links because i, too, am in the doldrums now that the anticipation buzz has worn off. i feel so uninspired and disconnected from spirit.
and i also am feeling "circle" design is important.... wonder what this means

and i liked what you posted, Tracy, that it's like giving birth. but, the problem is still there- it doesn't completely eradicate the tension/anxiety because we only have a certain amount of time - birth can happen whenever and that's just fine, the baby will come, but for those of us who are blocked, waiting and wondering isn't all that good because we have a time limit.

who's got an affirmation or mantra that we can use to relax and let the flow start?

any insights?

this afternoon i am going to use my theta-state maditation CD and see if i can't get some creativity flowing....

I have been wanting to do it in a circle, too! I want to find something round to glue things on.... maybe one of the pizza places in town have round pieces of cardboard.... I was originally thinking of doing it as an astrological wheel, as I am into that, and the different areas of life are represented, much like the bagua. I may still do that. Yesterday I bought magazines and cut out lots of things, but I still wasn't sure what I was doing... Then lying in bed last night I had this idea to draw myself in the middle, and put the other things around me, affirmations and pictures. And that feels good. I've been focusing lately on loving myself and my body, so it fits. I know there are pieces I've yet to find for the map, and I also know I'll find them and have them all in place in time.

Which doesn't leave me time for reading all of this thread and my LoA thread, too.... But I'll check in when I can! Happy mapping! OR should I say treasure-ing?

I'm no expert but I say yes. The way I understand it is that it doesn't matter when stuff is printed etc. The whole reason to wait till this week is to see what speaks to you NOW. So if the words from old magazines feel right, go with it.

Relax, go with the flow and stop thinking about 'rules'. Get creative. Personally, I don't think there is any "wrong" way to do these things. It's like going to the candy store and saying "ok, I can only buy candy in orange wrappers". Candy is candy. It's all good. :

Theres no way I can afford tons of new magazines for three people doing TM here. I bought one new one, and also used magazines we already had.

The intention is still there. I'd like to hope that TMing isn't only for those with a lot of money

All I can say is I'm glad we have three days! Our family started last night and worked hours just scratching the surface of our desires for this year.

Of course, we were talking and sharing and that slowed us down, I'm sure.

My 4 yo kept cutting out flowers, all flowers "it's for my beautiful flower garden...I really want one of my own" I'm so glad she "gets" it! Now my boys, they got a bit silly towards bedtime with the images they were choosing. We'll see how that goes.

I haven't see it! must depend on what type of mags you get.

I think the circle can represent wholeness.

Remember, in an ideal world you will have the treasure map completed by Friday. But if you need more time you can certainly take it. Technically between now and the full moon is the waxing moon...the building moon... and you can if you need take that time.

but the energy with the most oomph is the new. And I don't want to belabor astrology..but if you know any aries personality they really move quickly because so much of that aries energy is about ---harnessing inner instinct, trusting it, and going for it! That is why making a decision and moving on it is valuable... that is why if you can build it between now and Friday you will be moving like an aries during aries new moon.... it is about instinct and trust. Probably two of the most important traits one can access.

That's it exactly, intention.

I'm using all old magazines. Some I've collected for years for collage work. Some I've been picking up at thrift stores or the library's free pile since January. It's all good. Not to mention, I like the variety that I have...everything from exercise, home mags, yoga, handyman to cooking and financial mags. I wouldn't want to spend the money on new magazines to get that selection. Most I have never read or opened so they are new to me.

Big note........

I reread my posting and I forgot to mention something here... (shit, I'm sure I put it up on previous years..sigh)... but you should put a picture of yourself in the map. Ideally in the middle.

Thank you, Zannalyn for reminding me.

perhaps if some of you are stuck that might be the problem. Find a picture of yourself!

must edit first post..must edit first post...

Wow.

I haven't actually gotten to assembling the map but the ideas swirling around are so energizing! Writing them down even more so!

Awesome. Simply awesome...

I have been surprised that I've cut out very few pictures, but tons of words and quotes!!!

I guess this map is really 'speaking' to me!!!
