Are these contractions???

Ummmm... This is my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare a contraction to.. Well... Today is my due date which makes me question this even more... But every so often I get this slight wave of pain in my pelvic region and its not... Horrid but it does hurt... It just started a while ago... Should I ignore it?

Sorry to butt into your DDC, but I know I had the same question with my first labor! When the pain comes, feel your belly, does it get harder than it normally is? If it does, it's a contraction. Whether that means you're going into active labor or just kind of "getting ready" is harder to say. Everyone experiences pain and labor differently. I will tell you this...when I had my first "real" contraction, I stopped wondering, I KNEW! It wasn't horrible, but it felt really different...I felt it in my belly, my back, and my thighs.

I knew I was really in labor because the "pains" I was having made me poop a ton! And after the poop was all gone I still had the "pains" They felt like low intestinal or menstral cramps that Kept coming and coming. Does that help?

Yes, they are still coming and I have the urge to poop... How weird...

OMG... There getting worse... But I keep thinking its in my mind... And I have some errands to run... This is crazy...

Mine felt mostly like a belt that was WAY too tight in the "low riding" position. This was after the the mild, kind of uncomfortable feelings that were regular for hours.

My water broke ahead of time so I was expecting it -- but when the contractions started, they were unlike anything else I had felt. I had no question that they were contractions even though they were mild. I didn't feel them much in my belly, back or anywhere common really... the pain came in waves and felt like it was directly in my cervix. I did have some back pain later on in labor but the overwhelming sensations were still deep inside.
