please help me not worry

I had my first prenatal visit yesterday (Tuesday). They drew blood and told me to call Thursday morning. I checked my voice mail about an hour ago, it was my midwife, she wants to talk to me about my bloodwork. I'm scared what if something is wrong. There is nobody in their office now, and I have to wait until 8am. I hope everything is OK-I doubt it, doctors never call you with results unless it's something bad.......... If it was good she would have said that everything was normal....: :

Good luck! I get my test results tomorrow morning too. They also just told me that the midwife would have to call me, the girl didn't say anything, and then she never got back to me today (they had 2 births).
I'm sure everything is fine for you she just probably wanted to go over it all.

I hope you are right. Being a big worrier I can't help but think the worst. I think that I am going to ask them to please in the future just leave the results on the VM-I don't care how bad it is, I'm really scared.

I wouldn't worry to much... she just might tell you that you have low iron or maybe you are rh-... let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

I just called the office, and they don't answer their phones until 9am. I left a message with their answering service, I hope she calls back soon. Otherwise I am going to call right at 9am.

I'm scared

Everything is OK, MY HCG levels were 348, and they need to repeat them to make sure they are developing normally.

Big huge sigh of relief!!

That is pretty stressful. I HATE it when that happens, it seems like they should know that when we can't reach them for a certain amount of time we will think the worst. I hope you are getting more information now, and that it is something easy to deal with, or nothing at all.

Ahhh great news! Glad you can stop stressing!

Thanks for the responses. I spoke to my MW-and gave permission to leave voicemails as well as messages with my partner. I have never felt such an emotional rollercoaster!!

Here is what happened: On Friday I called my MW because I was having cramping-I had never been there, and I think they just heard, pregnant and cramping, and sent me to the ER. It was not a big deal, DP and I just went and figured better safe than sorry.

Since I was at the ER on Friday, they are going to rule out an ectocpic pregnancy-it's unlikely, but the MW wants to make sure. MY HCG levels went from 29 to 349-but they are going to do an ultrasound when my levels get up higher to make sure that this little bean is in my uterus and not in a tube. I'm feeling optimistic, as I think they are just taking a precaution.

I would feel optimistic as well, your #'s look like they are really rising well!

Good luck! It's nice that they are checking. I said "pregnant and cramping AND spotting" and got no u/s. Still....
Your numbers are rising nicely...how much time between the tests? Mine was 255 at almost 5wks and they thought it was low. Five days later it was 2258. So mine were lower than yours and I'm still pg.
When will you get another beta?

Oh, and if you really want to obsess...if you haven't been here, check this site out:
www.betabase.info ----- you can check your doubling time
www.babymed.com also has a graph you can put your numbers on and see where you fall. Click on the left side where it says hcg calculator.
