Going to tour preschool, should I take ds?

Hi,
I'm going next week to tour a local Reggio preschool, and would like to stay long enough to really get a feel for it. I was wondering if I should take ds,who will be attending there,or wait until I decide,*then* take him for his own tour? I definately will take him for his own tour before his 1st day,so that he can meet everyone, etc, but I'm kinda torn on if I should bring him for the initial meeting, cause I really want to be able to talk to the teachers and observe a bit, kwim?
So,WWYD? :

I would probably wait until you decide -- partly because he will be distracting, but mostly because I think preschoolers don't really get the concept of "You might go here, but not for sure" and if he likes the playground and toys, but then you enroll him somewhere else, he's likely to be confused or disappointed.

Take him.

Half the job in choosing one that will work for him is seeing him in that environment. Does he respond well to the teachers and other kids that will be there? If he stands behind you or clings to you but in another school goes off and plays you'll know that the 1 is not a good fit for him.

Here when you tour you almost always register them at the same time because the spots fill up so fast. The one my girls have gone to gives first dibs to parents who already have kids in the school. Then they open registration up to parents who don't for the number of spots they have open. Public registration has been open for 1 or 2 weeks and they already have a waiting list.

unless he absoultely loves a certain playschool he most likely won't remember going there, or will soon forget. If he loves it that much I'd consider perhaps that is the school for him.

Yes,same here. If we choose that school I have to register the same day. I think they only have 3 openings left,so if I like it I will be registering him.

I'd go by myself the first time.

If possible I'd go alone the first time, and then arrange or drop in for a visit with the child. I had to drop off some forms today for my son's preschool and it was a delight to see how my son just jumped right in, and how the teachers spoke with him, etc. Although I already made my decision, it really made me feel good.
