Help! I'm an idiot!

I just ruined all of my cloth mama pads! I was giving them a hot wash, and didn't noticed that something red had gotten into the wash! Now all of my pads are half pink...with big magenta splotches. ( figures it wouldn't 'dye' evenly!) Does anyone know how to get pink stains out? There are at least four dozen pads, and all are hand sewn...I'd laugh it didn't hurt so bad. :

Could you even it out by dying them all pink? It's not like it's an article of clothing everyone will see...

try soaking in Oxyclean

sun them

If it were me, I'd probably just use them stained. It's not like they're "ruined" in the sense of being unusable- they're just not as nice-looking as they could be.

I'm confused--why does it matter? (I don't use mama pads--thank goodness EBF has been so kind--so I'm kind of ignorant.)

I would go ahead and use them anyway. Mine are made of old sheets and aren't that pretty to begin with. As long as they are still absorbent, what is the problem?

I'd do a soak in hot water and Calgon.

If you haven't dried tham and set in the stain some, I would do a cold wash and see how much of the color comes out. If that doesn't do it, try the oxyclean soak. I had some red mystery thing get into my light laundry and 90% of it came out with another wash.

what she said -

and, do the rest of you mean to tell me that your momma pads AREN'T already stained from you? 'cause mine are. I never made any effort for them not to be. What does it matter?

They go in your underwear and soak up menstrual fluid. What difference does it make what they look like?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions. I did a cold rinse, then a soak in oxyclean.A lot of the pink came out. Tomorrow I'm going to to get some Calgon and try that.

I know it shouldn't matter, but i'm a little OCD about laundry stains of any type. Clean diapers, clean underwear, clean pads. I had been keeping everything so cleaned, now they look like Easter Eggs.

Found out though, the red came from a bandana my son threw in the washer for me. :

Thanks again! I think I might actually try overdying a couple of the calico ones pink, it might be funky!
