Do you use the homeschool teaching guides?

Hi..I have the guides and the whole k curriculum. I immersed myself in te guides when they first arrived and found them useful at the time and then felt overwhelmed at the amount of info. Are you considering purchasing them or do you own already?

Are you talking about the Foundation Guides and/or the Early Childhood Guide? We have them all and I an glad I do. My first read through was totally overwhelming, and at times, confusing. Then I read the OM Heart of Learning for K-3 and that was like the cliff notes version. Now I feel like when I reread the Enki Guides, I'll get much more from them. I do feel they are a wonderful resource to have. But if you aren't going to start Enki for another year, then I'd probaby go with the Enki Early Childhood Guide and/or the OM Heart of Learning book. I do think, though, if you are going to purchase Enki to use that you should get the guides too.

BTW, have you joined either the Enki or OM yahoo groups?

I am not 100% positive, but I think you have to purchase the guides as they are part of the curriculum. I don't think Beth will sell the curriculum without guides.

You can actually buy the whole thing in pieces, though to get the package discount, or to buy later years as a "returner" you need to purchase the entire curriculum. I begin buying parts and Beth actually ended up giving me the kinder package discount when I ended up purchasing the rest of the kinder package.

Actually the yahoo Enki group is there for those who are deciding if they want to buy the curriculun. I would highly recommend the group. There are files with lots of info, an easy to find it format. Also Beth Sutton actually answers questions as well. There is also a list of people who have emails posted and where they live, if they are willing to do show and tell (in real life ) I would suggest you join and read the files and old messages and if any of your questions are still unanswered you can ask! I just ordered my kindy on tuesday and cant wait for it to get here!! If you havent already, I would look at homeschoolreviews.com that way you can also check out other curriculums you might be interested in.
