Entering the abyss together ...

Read this the other day and haven't been able to get it out of my mind. This is so powerful (to me) on so many levels ...

Don't know if MDC is the place for this, but will post it anyway.

Hope this link works ...

Here.

Wow. That made me weep. I will go to bed tonight with a tiny bit more hope than last night. So long as there are people still trying, still working to connect one with another I think things could really get better.
Thanks Amy.

It's so frustrating that these are the minorities, and that they are disregarded by most. Their actions are the most exemplary and important.
I lived in Germany for two separate stretches, in HS and college, and visited a different camp each time. It is impossible to grasp even after being there. It really is like entering an abyss.
(I hope more people read his book too.)

How powerful! I don't know if I could ever go to a camp; I was weeping and scaring my poor dd in the Anne Frank Museum.

Sometimes the weight of this tragedy just lays on the heart, you know?

Blessings on those trying like this group, to find the unity of our common humanity in all of this...

Thanks for providing the link.

Very moving and deeply emotional.

Heartwrenching...
I loved this part:
Quote:
On the bus to Auschwitz, an Arab woman takes the mike. She has joined us, she explains, because she fears the anger that's distorting her. That is why I've come: not to save the Middle East but myself.
If only everyone had this thought, that change begins within yourself, we'd all be in a much better place.

At the end, the article talked about the Arab travelers reading off the names of the victims...wouldn't that take all week? How many hundreds of thousands of names are we talking about?

Particularly after the last few days, the energy of these people needs to be let out into the Earth's ether ... float it on a strong wind ...

Therein the solution.

UmmNuh, thanks for reminding me about his book. You know, I still haven't finished it. Will go to my library Web-site right now and put a hold on it.

Just a warning, Amy--no happy ending to it. Not yet, anyway...
