what do your almost 4 year old girls like to do?

she is ALWAYS bored...always (I admit, I am also bored to the core of my being)
we have blocks, train tracks, stuffed animals, dolls, craft cupboard, cars, a toy kitchen with all the play food/pots etc., playdough, trampoline..................

she doesnt wnat to do anything except read, follow me around...
I've been having health troubles for the past year and a half and am exhausted and unmotivated, but still I try to get her into diff. activities and she doesnt wnat to do ANYTHIng..i'm sure part of it is because she wants to do it with me,but I also have a 17 month old that is very spirited and hard to deal with hour after hour..I'm ready to lose it by 10am most days

So anyway, What are ur girls playing? What are they into? I want to give her things to stimulate her since we live out far from everything with no car

Do you have a yard? My daughter will play outside for HOURS and beg to stay out longer. She rides her trike, fills her water table with sand to make mud, "waters" the plants, colors on the patio with chalk. Being outside is her favorite thing right now. We're lucky enough to have a totally fenced in yard, so it makes it easy. Plus, my sitting room is right by the back patio door, so it's easy for me to watch her while I tend to her little brother.

As for indoor activities, she loves crafts, playing in her doll house, playing on www.starfall.com, and watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over and over and over.

Polly pockets dolls and clothes, coloring, playing outside, taking walks, playing with the neighbors, baking, writing letters, making cards, etc

We just got a new set of watercolor paints for Easter- dd really enjoys those. I've found actually reducing the number of toys available seems to make her play better- so I've been rotating a lot of ours in and out of the attic- that seems to really help. Dd has really enjoyed playing with small dolls and animals like playmobile lately. But if I really really need some time to do something else- she likes computer games, leapster and her leappad book- those will keep her engaged a long time.

My DD likes playing Polly Pockets and with her Playmobile house, drawing and coloring (especially if I color with her), helping me cook, playing outside on her trike, watching TV and playing on the computer (starfall.com is her current fave) : She likes building "houses" out of blankets, pillows, and furniture, and her main thing now is pretending. I hear endless, "Mommy, you be the mommy frog (or insert other animal/character here) and I'll be the little baby frog". Or she'll enact some big scenario inspired by a show she's watched or a book we've read.

STBSD is about 4 !/2, so I am trying to think back a little... She is definitely one of those kids who does not like to play alone... ever.

Painting is always good. She colors A LOT. Probably more than any other activity.

She loved Princess polly pockets (much to my chagrin), but recently has not played with them... funny how now that she can actually get the clothes on them herself, the interest peters out

Play-Doh is fun for a while.

She loves to dress up, but that usually involves us ("I'm a kitty and you're the Daddy Kitty and you're the Mama Kitty... Meow").

Honestly, on the days that we are alone, she does follow me around. But I try to look at this as a good this, curiosity and whatnot. I try to plan things to do on those days, like bake and decorate cookies, etc, but this summer when she will probably be with me for a week at a time...

Although I will say, at 3 1/2 ahe still probably needed a nap and was not used to having one (biomom's habits).

Ooooh.. gardening, she loved that at 3 1/2 and still likes it now... perfect for spring.

I will probably try ECFE stuff, and going to the park a lot.
