Any other NT moms here?

We are a Nourishing Tradiitions family. If anyone else is, what are you reading right now? I haven't been able to find anything except what is on their website.

Although I don't own it and am not currently reading it, I LOVE Eat Fat, Lose Fat. We are still trying to be more NT, as we can't exactly afford it, but I'm glad there is at least one other NT mama in this DDC!

We have never been 100%, but have done as much as we could. Since I've gotten morning sickness though, it has all gone out the window. The only stuff I want to eat is carbs and stuff I used to eat as a kid like grilled cheese, spaghettios, mac and cheese, etc. I know it's not good, but that's just the way it is right now. Hopefully you will both be more successful than me!

I just bought NT last Sunday and am trying to get into it. I have adopted some of the principles but we can't afford all of it. Since getting my BFP I have been taking Cod Liver Oil daily and my first batch of Kombucha is (hopefully) "brewing." We eat a lot of whole foods/organic as it is so I'm just having to tweak things a bit.

So, not to be totally in the dark here: What is Nourishing Traditions?

I'm not in your DDC, and I'm not sure whether you were asking if there are NT families in your DDC, or on MDC, but there is a forum just for us - it's called "Traditional Foods" - http://www.mothering.com/discussions...play.php?f=365

we're trying to eat traditional foods. We are fairly new to it and I can't stand meat fright now, but I am working on it
Eating NT style helped me lose baby weight that had hung on for over a year, and now morning sickness has taken off the final few pounds

Sheila, I can't do meat right now either (well, not NT-friendly meat - I did have a cold cut sub from Subway and a BK burger yesterday . Actually, I'm having lots of trouble sticking to NT/TF eating in the first trimester. I stopped taking my CLO & BO right around conception and lacto-fermented drinks taste "off" to me. And most of my food aversions are the NT/TF foods we eat the most: eggs, meat, veggies, etc.

I am feeling some major guilt for not taking clo/bo since I read its SO important in the first trimester, but I just can not do it!

my dd has crooked teeth already and every time I look at them I feel so guilty!

I had to stop the CLO too. It just made me soooo sick. In fact I can't even right about it anymore. Yuck!
Plus I don't want any meat or veggies really. But I am doing the oatmeal and eggs.

I didn't reply to Treece's question, because klg47's link kind of answers it. NT = Nourishing Traditions which is a book by Sally Fallon about traditional foods. Beyond that, the forum linked above (especially the What are "Traditional Foods"? sticky) is going to be your best resource for learning more. HTH!
