Yep, we are there.. but luckily, are starting to see the light of day
DH makes great money.. $17 per hr which is pretty good imo... We are living with my parents but desperately want out.. but it just isnt going to happen right now
Which has ended up with me taking Zoloft from before I had kids LOL.. doubt its working but I cant afford to pay for Zoloft or the doctors visit to get a prescription so I take my old Zoloft LOL.. at least the thought of me taking something for the depression makes me feel better lol.. Anyways,
We have TONS of debt... we were careless with credit cards and loans and crap. We have had a few cell phones turned off and never paid the bill so it went on our credit. Ive had some medical bills that went on the credit because we couldnt afford to pay them. Luckily, we now have a truck with a lower payment and my hubbys work (he works for his grandfather) is now paying the insurance on it, which is a BIG deal considering we were paying $310 per month for car insurance.. CRAZY!!! and that was even with a $500 deductible in case of accident. Anyways, right now we are tight and May will be tight but June will have 3 paychecks and from June on we will have our head above water and be able to start paying off debts and save some.. FINALLY!! We have been married for 4 years and we have NEVER been able to just go out to dinner without planning it and saving for a month or 2. Herei s what we have
Gas - $380 per month (this includes dh's cigarettes and his once in a while soda at work)
Truck - $380 (we only have 1 vehicle and dh uses it for work, it doesnt fit our family so I drive my moms van when I go somewhere)
Gas for moms van - $150
JuicePlus - $23 (We have JP for ds because he refuses most veggies)
Mom - $400 (We pay my mom $400 per month for our rent and electric and water and food... I say we have it very good and my mom is the best mommy on earth lol)
Cells - $165 (DH needs a T-Mobile Dash for work and the service for it is crazy.. thats with minimum minutes but unlimited internet.. he uses it frequently and his grandfather raised his pay $1 per hr when he got it.. Mine is on the lowest amount of minutes and we would switch me to prepaid except Im in a 1 yr contract.. which will be up in February 08)
Diapers - $40 (We were cloth diapering but it just got to be way too much because I have 2 in diapers and then a now 4 year old and we only had enough for 1 day so I was washing daily and with 8 people in the house including 5 adults, washing diapers daily plus laundry for everyone else, it just was too much on me and I was stressed to the max)
School Loan - $40 I went to school to have something to fall back on in case something happens to dh... My repayment is only $40 a month so I cant complain
School - $140 (Beginning in August, we will be paying $140 for Raymond to go to preschool.. We are taking advantage of the states Voluntary PreK program which pays for 1/2 the day and we are paying the extra for the extended day which is mainly for playtime.. its at the school his cousins are at and will be in the same extended day class as his cousin so thats just great! I dont feel too badly about paying it since by August we will be doing so much better)
DH had been claiming 3 on his W-4 but after reading through this post, I went and did the W-4 calculator and he is going to claim 10 now even though it says we could do 12.. We feel we want to stay safe so we dont pay at the end of the year LOL.. We are going to take the extra and put it in a savings acct with a good interest rate so the government isnt making the interest on our money, we are..
We are technically in poverty but we are sheltered, clothed, fed, and have some luxuries... cable, internet, cells, a dog.. but basically we would be homeless if it werent for my parents.
