Just as my husband predicted, our beautiful daughter was born on April 17th, a new moon.
The labor was a fantastic experience. I have never experienced anything like that. It was amazing.
I had a long prelabor, then a rather quick labor... I labored mostly in the tub, and went from 4 to 9 cm in about 3 or 4 hours...
I kept water birth open as an option, but got out at 9cm, as I had a cervical lip, and didn't progess. We decided to push past it, and after an hour or so of pushing, she was born.
I am so in love!
I had my wonderful mother, our fantastic doula, my favorite midwive, my favorite nurse all present and incedibly supportive. A student nurse later commented that the love in the room was so strong, it was viscous.
