Anyone else finding sex to be REALLY uncomfortable?

I'm feeling super uncomfortable when we have sex. Is this normal? It's my first pregnancy and I'm really surprised because I'd read that sex gets better when you're pregnant--because of increased blood flow to the area, not having to be anxious about contraception, etc. What a bummer! Anyone else in the same situation? And is there anything we can do about this?

This was me during my first pregnancy. Sex was SO bad and uncomfortable. I can count on one hand the number of times we actually DTD during those nine months. My poor dh was so unhappy. It's funny though, because this time I feel about 10 times worse, but sex is better.

I find my hormones to be racing, and I'm more attracted to my DH than ever - but, my cervix area can be a bit tender, and it makes things, hurtful.
Anything, er, deep at all, I find to be extremely uncomfortable.

So, yes, its normal - and yes, it may improve. Just dont get anxious about it, or you'll keep that hesistation with you.

Do what you can to stay intimate without being sexual, if that is what you prefer- after said baby comes, your intimacy needs may drop very sharply.
I know my youngling took up all of my physical needs, and by the time I got him off of me (asleep, and no longer nursing) I just wanted freshair.

I'm just feeling a bit touched-out, from being preg and co-sleeping with DS2 & 3, and nursing, nursing, nursing. I'm sure I'll get my mojo back by my 2nd trimester though. That's when it usually happens. Poor DH is already "complaining" that he'll have to take extra vitamins to keep up.

NN--Ha! My DH would love to feel like he had to keep up. Sadly, this is not the case right now. It's good to know it might get better in the second trimester, though.

I really do have to try not to be anxious about it, since I'm sure that will probably only make things worse.

Cervix area is a bit tender, so he's just being careful to be gentler than usual. Plus, now, I'm in Korea and he's in Texas, so that makes it a little more difficult to get together. Stupid Army, couldn't work our schedules out.

I really really wanted to have sex today, and DP and I went for it. I had an orgasm, and then I got some really bad cramping. It was really scary-I think it ain't happening for awhile.

Shachar613, I agree with the PPs that it is entirely normal and also that you might get a second wind later on so that you can enjoy intimacy more....at least until your belly gets too big to enjoy much of anything, lol! Are you suffering from morning sickness? The big killer I face during the first tri is plain old exhaustion! A couple times we've gone to bed intending to be intimate, and I've fallen asleep before we could seal the deal! Thankfully, dh doesn't take it personally!

Also, don't underestimate the emotional aspect. Since this is your first pregnancy, just the fact that you are sharing your body with another person 24/7 is quite a change! Give your mind time to catch up!

I was really uncomfortable for the first weeks and then we made love this week (I was 8.5 weeks) and WOW, so good! So maybe in a few weeks you'll be feeling better.

We just did it last night for the first time since we conceived..and everything was fine until afterwards.. then I got a really bad wave of nausea.. I told my DH that it must be motion sickness.
But seriously.. it was really really unpleasant and makes me want to avoid sex until these bouts of nausea pass..
